After a nice mild Spring, we had some Summer-like weather come in with a bang (88°!)as we kicked off our May union meeting. We welcomed in 70 new members to take to oath tonight (and a similar size group will take the oath tomorrow as well). It was great to see the democratic process of nominations go off without a hitch tonight. Lots of new faces as we grow our member roster to record numbers never seen before in 613. As we head into election season and move toward Memorial Day weekend, let us never forget the sacrifices others have made so that we can be a union built on principles, and always have one another's back.
