Congratulations to Adventure Outdoors and the Wallace family on 50 years of business, community leadership, and service in Smyrna.

Tonight, the city recognized Adventure Outdoors and the Wallace family with a proclamation honoring five decades of entrepreneurship, investment in the community, and support for local organizations — including the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation. The City of Smyrna, GA Government is also renaming Glendale Place as Jay Wallace Way.

Community partnerships make our mission possible, and we are grateful for businesses and families who continue to invest in Smyrna’s first responders and the people who make this city special.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and milestone anniversary.

Congratulations Deputy Chief Mohrmann.

Did you know?

As summer approaches and more people head outdoors to enjoy the warmer weather, we want to remind everyone to stay safe and follow the law when operating electric bikes and motorcycles.

Georgia law is very clear: high-speed electric two-wheelers are not treated the same as standard bicycles. Depending on their speed and motor output, some may be legally classified as motor vehicles.

That means they may require:
✅ A valid driver’s license
✅ Registration
✅ Insurance
✅ A DOT-approved motorcycle helmet

Some are also prohibited from sidewalks and multi-use paths.

Parents, please take a moment to review the graphic below and properly identify your child’s vehicle. Check the top speed, motor output, age requirements, and where it can legally be operated.

We want kids and families outside enjoying the summer—but doing so safely and legally helps protect everyone on our roads, sidewalks, and shared paths.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe this summer!

Honoring those who have given their all.

Honoring those who have given their all.

Today, we honor the brave peace officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and our nation.

On Peace Officers Memorial Day, the Smyrna Police Department remembers the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives protecting others. Their legacy of service, sacrifice, and commitment will never be forgotten.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the men and women who continue to wear the badge each day with honor, courage, and unwavering dedication to protecting and serving their communities.

Today, we remember the fallen, honor their sacrifice, and stand with the families, friends, and fellow officers who carry their legacy forward. 💙🖤
