Congratulations to Hotel Indigo Atlanta-Vinings Ballpark Area on its grand reopening!

The reimagined boutique hotel celebrates what makes the Vinings neighborhood special, drawing inspiration from the area’s rich history and its strong roots in the local community.

Pumpkins & Public Safety returns to Smyrna on Saturday, Oct. 10, with an afternoon of pumpkin decorating, fall treats and an up-close look at public safety vehicles.

Admission for each child is simply a new winter item, such as socks, hats, coats or blankets. Donations will help The Tillman House stock its closet with winter necessities for local families.

Join the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation, Smyrna Fire Department and Smyrna Police Department from 1 to 4 p.m. at Smyrna First United Methodist Church, 1915 Concord Road SE.

Bring the kids, bring a winter donation and come enjoy some fall fun while supporting our community!

As Smyrna marks the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the community will have several days to visit a special tribute in downtown Smyrna.

Next to City Hall, the Flags of Remembrance display honoring those who lost their lives in the Twin Towers will remain in place through Sunday, Sept. 13, giving everyone an opportunity to visit, remember and reflect.

The display is part of Smyrna's 9/11 commemoration, which begins at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at City Hall and includes a commemorative run by Smyrna's first responders beginning at 9:05 a.m.

We invite our community to join us in remembering those lost and honoring the first responders who answered the call.

Twenty-five years after Sept. 11, 2001, Smyrna’s first responders will honor those who died by coming together in remembrance and continuing the spirit of service that followed the attacks.

A public ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Smyrna City Hall. At 9:05 a.m., local first responders will take part in a memorial run through downtown Smyrna. A nearby flag display representing the Twin Towers will remain in place through Sunday, Sept. 13, giving residents additional time to visit and reflect.

The Smyrna Public Safety Foundation is also offering commemorative challenge coins for a $25 donation. Proceeds will support Smyrna first responders.
