The first royal princess of the ULUNJI Tribe, Martha Chimwemwe, is all set for her highly anticipated first media tour, where she will officially premiere her debut single, “Tikavina” — a powerful urban Mang’anje/Tchopa fusion masterpiece fully executively composed and arranged by Mahara Mhango and the legendary Dan Sibale, and produced by the “Baddest” DJ Megi in collaboration with the ULUNJI Tribe.

Martha Chimwemwe first captured the nation’s attention during the celebrated GULUGUFE Challenge, where she emerged as the overall winner, walking away with a grand prize of MK2,000,000. It was through this outstanding performance and raw talent that she was discovered by the ULUNJI Tribe and has now been officially signed under the ULUNJI Tribe management, marking the beginning of what many believe will be a remarkable musical journey.

The media tour will begin with a special live unplugged appearance on Good Morning Malawi, the nation’s state broadcaster, marking a historic introduction of Martha Chimwemwe to the national audience. Followed by special appearances on Mibawa, MIJ FM, MBC radio 1 and 2, Capital FM and Times.

Our Elder Dan Sibale—truly a legend—is the story of a man on a mission. A pioneer who stood the test of time, defied the odds, and chose an instrument that was rare in that part of Africa, yet carried it with conviction and purpose.

In a recent conversation with Erik Paliani—widely regarded as a gatekeeper and godfather of jazz—we reflected on one unforgettable moment. In passing, we recalled how Dan was once introduced to a professional band as a horn player for an audition by the late Chuma Soko, one of the country’s leading master producers.

But when the day came… Dan showed up with no saxophone.

No instrument.
No backup plan.
Just presence, courage, and a calling.

What happened next… is where the legend truly begins.
