We’re looking for additional afterschool care options for a student attending Fowler Drive Elementary School in Athens, GA.

Does anyone know of any local daycares, childcare centers, or afterschool programs that serve students from this school?

We’re already familiar with the Boys & Girls Club and the school’s afterschool program, so we’re hoping to discover some additional resources or alternatives.

At EHA, transformation does not always announce itself through awards, test scores, or recognition.

Sometimes, it looks like a girl who once sat silently raising her hand to speak.

Sometimes, it looks like a girl who once feared being around her peers stepping forward to lead them.

October carries two colors… but behind both of them are stories that changed somebody’s life forever.

💖Pink reminds us of the woman who heard words she never wanted to hear and still found the strength to keep going. The survivor carrying scars. The family holding onto memories. The loved ones who would give anything for one more hug.

💜Purple reminds us of the woman who smiled in public while breaking in private. The survivor rebuilding after abuse. The voice that was silenced too soon. The woman still gathering the courage to choose safety.

This month, we do more than wear colors.

We remember.
We believe.
We advocate.
We check on the strong friend.
We honor the fighters.
We stand beside survivors.

Because somewhere, a woman is fighting to stay alive.

And somewhere else, a woman is fighting to finally feel safe.

Both deserve a future.

At Encourage H.E.R. Academy, empowering girls means reminding them that their lives, their bodies, their voices, their boundaries and their safety matter.

May we raise girls who know that asking for help is strength, love should never hurt, early detection matters, and no woman should have to fight her hardest battle alone.

Hello, October 🍂

A new month always feels like an invitation—to slow down, look around, and appreciate the people who make this village what it is.

This month, we’re stepping into new experiences, deeper sisterhood, meaningful moments, and more opportunities for our girls to grow into everything they’re called to be. October is already reminding us that community is not just about showing up for the big moments—it’s about celebrating each other along the way.

And this month, we get to celebrate two very special members of our EHA family.

Happy early birthday to our Village Mom, Toni L., celebrating October 20th, and our Gal Pal, Danasia P., celebrating October 22nd. We’re grateful for the light, love, personality, and presence you each bring to our village. May this next year of life bring you new joy, beautiful memories, answered prayers, and plenty of reasons to smile.

Here’s to a month full of purpose, connection, celebration, and becoming.

Some girls are athletes.
Some girls are performers.
Some girls light up the second you hand them a book. 📚

EHA is exploring a new experience specifically for girls ages 14+ who love reading—and we’re interested in creating more than just a place to finish books.

We’re imagining a space where girls can meet other readers, discover new stories, talk about the things books make them think and feel, and build friendships around something they genuinely enjoy.

Because sometimes the best part of loving books is finally finding people who love them too.

📚 Okay book girls…we might have something for you.

If you know a girl who always has a book nearby, stays up way too late finishing “one more chapter,” or gets way too invested in fictional people…send this to her.

We’re putting together something new at EHA for girls ages 14+ who genuinely love to read.

Not school.
Not an assignment.
And definitely not a book report.

Think good books, real conversations, cozy meetups, bookstore trips, maybe a movie night after finishing a book, author talks, and just being around other girls who enjoy reading too.
