Johnny Mac Scholars from across the country recently gathered in Washington, D.C. for the Joshua Miles Memorial Scholars Retreat, hosted by our program partner Freedom Alliance.

Over several days, students connected through peer support, shared experiences, and time spent exploring the city. For many, it was a rare opportunity to build friendships with others who truly understand what it means to grow up in a military family impacted by loss or severe injury.

We’re grateful to Freedom Alliance for their continued commitment to creating spaces like this for military-connected students.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since our Johnny Mac Memorial Golf Tournament!

Thank you again to our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make this year’s event such a meaningful success, raising nearly $270,000, the highest fundraising total in the event’s history. These funds will directly support educational scholarships for children of fallen or disabled service members.

We're so grateful for your generosity and already looking forward to seeing you again on June 7, 2027!

Thank you to Johnny Mac Scholar Ja'Niayah Ellis for joining us at this year's Johnny Mac Memorial Golf Tournament and providing the invocation.

A rising senior at Augusta University pursuing a degree in Social Work, Ja'Niayah is honoring the legacy of her father, Staff Sergeant James Ellis, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2006, through her commitment to service and helping others.

We are proud to support scholars like Ja'Niayah and grateful she spent the day with our golfers, sponsors, and supporters. 💙🇺🇸

We were honored to welcome members of the McHugh family to this year's Johnny Mac Memorial Golf Tournament.

As the family of Colonel John "Johnny Mac" McHugh, the inspiration behind Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, their presence is a meaningful reminder of why we do this work.

Among those joining us were Johnny Mac's children, Kelly and David; Kelly's husband, Mark, and their children, Johnny and Grace; and Johnny Mac's brother, Jim, and sister, Mary.

We're especially grateful that Kelly recently joined the JMSF Board of Directors, where she serves alongside Jim, continuing the McHugh family's longstanding commitment to our mission.

Thank you all for spending the day with us! 🇺🇸

Yesterday at the West Point Golf Course, our community came together and raised over $260,000 ⛳️🇺🇸

Thank you to our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who made the day such a success in support of our Johnny Mac Scholars and military families.

A very special thank you to Stuart Appleby for generously spending the day with our golfers, teeing off with each foursome and making the experience unforgettable.

From the first tee shot to the final scorecard, yesterday was filled with meaningful moments and unwavering support for our mission.

We’re so grateful for this community and the impact we’re able to make together. 🤍
