Mini-Musicals on the Move was born in 2008 when a group of friends in suburban Washington D.C. used their combined expertise in organizing sing-along house parties, storytelling and vocal performance to create “living room sized performances” of classic Broadway musicals. Initially, the group performed for friends and neighbors, but after their first performance at a Northwest facility for seniors
, they realized the special meaning of these classic musical theater stories and songs for the generation that grew up loving them. They were also struck by the therapeutic benefits of performing, storytelling and singing-along for both performers and audience members, and they saw the opportunity to share these benefits with others. Since then, the Mini-musicals team has grown and changed, reached out to new audiences and developed new programs. But the mission that was born back in that living room endures as strongly as our passion for music and love for sharing it with you.
