✨ Officially launching Asbury Park’s first ALS awareness page ✨

We plan to register as a nonprofit soon, but today, we begin by sharing the reason this exists:

Scott’s Story: (In Honor of Scott Goldsberry)

Scott, of Hazlet, NJ, was more than a husband, father, and neighbor - he was the heartbeat of his community. A lifelong supporter of youth athletics, Scott poured his heart into the Hazlet Youth Athletic League as commissioner & coach. Under his leadership came new bleachers, snack bars, trails, & a safe place for kids to play.

But Scott gave more than facilities — he gave laughter, mentorship, and lessons of teamwork & pride. To many, he wasn’t just a coach. He was family.

In early 2024, Scott was diagnosed with ALS. More specifically a cruel and aggressive form (c9 mutation). What might break another only revealed his true spirit. His wife Christine, his children, and the Hazlet community became his team. Friends described him best: “If you know Scottie, he is the most uplifting person you will ever meet. His humor causes so much laughter that we forget the battle he is facing.”

The community rallied: 5Ks, benefit nights, and fundraisers filled with music, dancing, tears & joy…all proving Scott was never alone in his fight.

ALS took his body, but it never won. Scott won. He won through love, humor, and legacy. He won by inspiring awareness, unity, & courage in everyone who knew him.

Scott’s story is proof that ALS cannot erase compassion or community. His victory lives on in every life he touched.

For Scott. For Every Family.💙
