🇺🇸 URGENT Message from the MCL National Commandant

In response to the many questions and comments received from members across the organization regarding the previously shared Safety and Protection guidance, the earlier letter dated March 13th has been officially rescinded by the National Commandant.

After further review and consideration, the Commandant has issued a new official letter to the membership, which is now being shared for your awareness and review.

🔹 The previously circulated Force Protection letter dated March 13th is no longer in effect.
🔹 Please refer to the updated letter from the National Commandant for the current guidance.

Transparency and clear communication with our membership remain a priority. We appreciate the engagement and feedback from our Marine Corps League community as we work together to ensure accurate information is shared across all levels of the organization.

Today we honor and thank Dave Winkler on his last day serving with the Marine Corps 707 Detachment Funeral Honors team.

Over the course of his time on the honor team, Dave has performed more than 2,000 funeral honors, standing with dignity and respect for our fallen Veterans and their families during some of their most difficult moments. His dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment ensured that every service member received the honor and recognition they deserved.

Dave’s service represents the very best of what it means to uphold tradition, respect, and brotherhood. The impact he has made on countless families will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Dave, for your remarkable dedication and for honoring so many who served before us. Your work has made a lasting difference, and your legacy with the 707 Detachment will continue to inspire.

Join me im honoring and giving thanks to the MCL 707 honor guard.

This month alone, the Marine Corps League 707 Honor Team rendered 33 honors standing watch, offering dignity, and honoring the lives of those who served. Each ceremony was a final act of respect, carried out with precision, pride, and deep gratitude.

In 2025, we’ve completed 258 honors. That’s 258 families comforted, 258 veterans remembered, and 258 times our team answered the call without hesitation. Behind every number is a life, a story, and a sacrifice that will never be forgotten.

We do this not for recognition, but because honoring our fallen is a sacred responsibility. The dedication, time, and emotional strength of this team is nothing short of humbling. Semper Fidelis.
