As of 10:00 AM on June 15, 2026, Missouri chiropractors learned that the Missouri state budget includes the elimination of Medicaid coverage for chiropractic care, physical therapy, and acupuncture services effective July 1, 2026, two weeks away.
If approved, this decision will affect thousands of Missouri families, children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and working adults who depend on these services to manage pain, maintain mobility, avoid unnecessary medications, and improve their quality of life.
For many patients, these services are not a luxury. They are the reason they can work, care for their families, sleep through the night, remain independent, and avoid more invasive medical interventions.
**This decision is devastating.**
It is devastating for the patients who have worked hard to regain their health.
It is devastating for the families who finally found answers after years of suffering.
It is devastating for healthcare providers who have dedicated their lives to serving Missouri's most vulnerable populations.
And it is devastating for the future of accessible, patient-centered healthcare in our state.
**Governor Mike Kehoe has until midnight on June 30, 2026, to either approve or veto these cuts.**
That means there is still time—but only if Missouri citizens speak up.

# # # What Will Happen to Current Medicaid Patients?
Many of you have already reached out asking what this means for your care.
I want you to hear this directly from me:
**I will not abandon my patients.**
In 2020, I founded Heartful Wellness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, specifically to help bridge gaps in healthcare coverage and improve access to care for those who need it most.
For years, I have watched patients struggle as insurance companies covered less and less while families paid more and more out of pocket. In many cases, patients were covering nearly 70% of the actual cost of their care while insurance covered only a fraction.
I created Heartful Wellness because I never wanted finances to become the reason someone couldn't receive the care they needed.
Through the generosity of community donations and our unique practice model, we are able to offer qualifying patients a sliding-scale option through Heartful Wellness:
* Chiropractic Care: Minimum donation of $10
* Acupuncture Care: Minimum donation of $25
While these amounts are significantly less than the actual cost of providing care—and far below what is needed to sustain a practice long-term—I simply cannot turn away families I have had the privilege of serving, some for more than a decade.

*"When you have enough, you share with others, so together, we all have enough."*
If these cuts move forward, current Medicaid patients will automatically be transitioned into Heartful Wellness nonprofit status. **You do not need to do anything at this time.**
