Congratulations, Dr. Varnell! 👏👏👏👏

🎉 Congratulations to our newest Arlington ISD leaders!

We’re excited to welcome four outstanding educators into new roles across the district.

Jannie Nelson will lead Hill Elementary as principal, bringing 15+ years of experience and a strong commitment to student growth and instructional excellence.

Dr. Kadoria Burgess joins J.B. Little Elementary as principal, offering deep expertise in bilingual education, instructional leadership, and school administration.

Ricki Andrews will serve as principal of Miller Elementary, bringing more than two decades of experience and a passion for supporting students and teachers.

Dr. Matthew Varnell steps into the role of Executive Director of Innovative Programs, backed by nearly 30 years of leadership in fine arts, dual language, and campus administration.

We’re excited for the future under their leadership and the impact they’ll make across Arlington ISD!

🎉 We’re excited to share that the Gunn Junior High PTA has been selected to receive the Texas PTA Advocacy Impact Award for the 2025–2026 school year! 🎉

This recognition celebrates the work of our amazing PTA board, families, staff, and community members who continue to advocate for every child and support public education at Gunn and beyond.

At Gunn, advocacy means making sure families have a voice, students are supported, and our school community stays connected and informed. We are incredibly honored to be recognized by Texas PTA for those efforts.

We had a blast at the Raising Cane’s Spirit Night last night after rocking out to hits from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s! Our Gunn Gator Choir killed it as usual, and these parents (and more) just love a good theme! 🎶
