Hello all,

Everyone here at Argyle Emergency Squad would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Easton-Greenwich Rescue Squad for their incredible support and generosity.

Due to unfortunate circumstances at the beginning of May, Argyle EMS lost the ability to operate our last remaining ambulance. This created an extremely challenging situation for our agency and our community. However, Easton Greenwich Rescue stepped up and offered their assistance by allowing us to utilize their ambulance, 3252.

During this 38-day stretch, Argyle EMS responded to over 75 emergency calls within our primary response area with 3252. This support allowed us to continue providing timely emergency medical care to our community members during their times of need.

Beyond allowing Argyle EMS to utilize 3252 as our primary ambulance for over a month, Easton Greenwich continued their support by allowing us to keep and use 3252 as a secondary ambulance while only one of our ambulances has been able to return to service.

This generous act of support has meant so much — not only to our agency, but to the community we proudly serve. Easton Greenwich’s willingness to step in and help ensured that our residents continued to have access to emergency services when they needed them most.

From everyone at Argyle Emergency Squad, Thank You, Easton Greenwich Rescue, for standing beside us and supporting our mission. We truly cannot thank you enough!

Slow down in the rain! 🌧️

As we enter Spring and the rainy season, we wanted to share some safety tips with you all. This is because wet roads can be dangerous, as it only takes a few inches of water to cause hydroplaning.

Share these with your family (especially younger drivers) so that everyone arrives alive.

Slow down! - Posted speed limits are for ideal conditions. Reduce speed when wet or raining for visibility and control.

Turn on your headlights! - This helps other drivers see you better. If your wipers are on, your lights should be on too.

Increase following distance! - Leave more space between you and the car in front of you, aiming for about 6 seconds behind. Stopping distance can be 3x longer on wet roads.

Avoid hydroplaning! - If you start to skid, do not slam on the brakes. Ease off the gas, steer straight, and wait for the tires to regain traction.

Never drive through standing water! - Standing water can hide things, be deeper than it looks, and stall your engine.

Speeding on wet roads is a leading cause of accidents. Leave early, take it slow, and arrive safe. We hope you all have a safe and fun spring 🌼

Our hearts are heavy as we learned the passing of Life Member, Harold "Ozzie" Osborne. Ozzie joined the AEMS family on January 28th, 1967, and retired after 50 years of service. Although we do not have the exact number of EMS calls he took, we know that between the years 1988 and 2009, he had taken 620 calls. Ozzie truly was a remarkable man, and those of us who had the honor of working with him during his years of service know exactly how special he was.
To Ozzie's family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. He will be missed.
