The Apple Valley Arts Foundation has announced their Summer Concert Series lineup! 🎼

Due to ongoing construction at Kelley Park, the majority of the series will be held at Bogart's Entertainment Center. They will close out the series with a special concert on September 26 to celebrate the opening of the new amphitheater. 🥳

It's going to be a great summer in Apple Valley! 🍎

Last week, our Chamber's C.O.R.E. Women group hosted our "Coffee & Convo" event at Sweet Treasures Cakes! 🧁Members gathered for a morning of networking and connection, while enjoying delicious coffee and pastries in the welcoming atmosphere of the locally owned café.

Guests had the opportunity to meet new Chamber members, strengthen existing relationships, and hear the inspiring story of owner Ann Alaboud. Ann shared her entrepreneurial journey, the passion behind Sweet Treasures, and the dedication that has helped make her business a beloved community staple.

The highlight of the morning was a hands-on frosting piping demonstration, where attendees learned decorating techniques and heard about the quality ingredients that make their products so special. The activity sparked plenty of laughter, conversation, and creativity, making for a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Thank you to Ann Alaboud and the team at Sweet Treasures for hosting such a wonderful event and sharing your story with our C.O.R.E. Women group. We look forward to continuing to connect, learn, and support one another through future Chamber events!💕

Affordable housing to replace Apple Valley Transit Station 🏘️

The former Apple Valley Transit Station has been razed and construction for Valley Station Apartments has begun. On the 3.1 acres will be a 5-story, 144 unit building. The apartments will be affordable/workforce housing, not traditional market-rate apartments. Developed by Real Estate Equities, the community is designed with income restrictions for households earning 50%, 60%, and 70% of the Area Median Income (AMI). While the units are income-restricted, they are built to a standard equivalent to modern market-rate developments, offering amenities like a fitness center, clubroom, and outdoor grilling areas.

This week, we got a special behind-the-scenes tour of the construction updates at Skyline Social and Games, located at Orchard Place Shopping Center just west of Lunds & Byerlys on Pilot K**b. They plan to open in August. 🎳🍻🏐🍕

Headquartered in Hermantown, MN, they have a smaller family-owned (since 1976) location in Duluth that hosts 2,000 people nightly in summer and 3,000 on weekends. For the Apple Valley location, they will initially hire 120 part time employees, 10 fulltime and begin hiring those positions in mid-late May.

To be located on the opposite side of the building from Dunkin Donuts at Pennock and 42 will be Moe's Southwest Grill 🌯 They will take the place of a smoke shop that recently closed. Moe's is similar to Chipotle, Costa Vida and Panchero's in that they offer fast casual dining of burritos/bowls, quesadillas, tacos, etc. that are made to order. They currently have over 575 locations in 37 states. The concept is from GoTo Foods who owns Auntie Anne’s Pretzel shops, Cinnabon, Jamba, Carvel Ice Cream and Schlotzkis. The photos included are of other locations to give you an idea of the concept.

New Restaurant Coming to Apple Valley🥟

Serious Dumplings is currently building out a new location in Apple Valley next to Warners' Stellian in the Times Square Shopping Center. Construction has only recently begun, so included in this post is a photo of their location in Chicago, as well as a menu.

Today, 7 Brew Coffee had their building drop in advance of opening their new location in Apple Valley on Pilot K**b & 155th St W. 7 Brew buildings are modular and built off-site, shipped and then craned onto the prepared foundation. Crews then put together the finishing touches (landscaping, utilities, drive-thrus, etc.). Doing it this way allows for speed, consistency and scalability. They plan to officially open in late June.
