Wife, I know what it feels like to be hurt.💔
I’ve been the hurt wife.
And if I’m being honest, I used to think my hurt justified my behavior.
If he hurt me, I had a right to hurt him back.
If he was short with me, I’d be shorter.
If he didn’t listen, I’d make sure he heard me.

If I felt disrespected, I’d disrespect him right back.
That isn’t communication.
That’s retaliation.
Your feelings matter. Your pain matters. What happened matters.
But you are still responsible for what comes out of your mouth.
You can be angry without being cruel.
You can confront without belittling.
You can set a boundary without becoming vicious.
Your hurt may explain your behavior, but it doesn’t excuse it.
And sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is stop asking, “What did he do to me?”
…and start asking,
“Who am I becoming because of it?

In this opening episode of our new series, Mind Your Mouth, Kasan and co-host Yesares put themselves under the same Word they're preaching. This isn't about pointing fingers. It's about every man asking honestly where he's been too interested in somebody else's business, and not busy enough tending his own.

We'll talk about the difference between privacy and secrecy, why calling gossip a prayer request doesn't sanctify it, and why a Kingdom man doesn't use another person's weakness as conversational currency. Before repeating something, there are three questions worth asking: Is this my responsibility? Is this my audience? Will this produce godly fruit?
