Additional $2000 donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida (BCFCF) from Hooked on Hope!

In August 2024, Hooked on Hope dissolved as a Florida not-profit organization. HOH donated its remaining funds of $25,000 to the BCFCF, as their mission to pay for living expenses for breast cancer patients during treatment mirrors HOH's longstanding commitment to the Tampa Bay Communities (2009 - 2024).

At the 12/31/2024 financial reconciliation, HOH had $2000 remaining.

On 1/11/2025, Mary Ostien and Ashley Lloyd, Executive Director of the BCFCF, got together for a wonderful visit, at which time HOH presented a second check for an additional $2000, bringing the total donation to $27,000.

The BCFCF is actively funding the breast cancer patients of Tampa Bay - thank you!

On behalf of my sister Capt. Lori Hall, myself, and the many volunteers, sponsors, and community supporters who worked tirelessly in support of HOH for nearly 16 years, a simple thank you will never be enough!

As recently reported, Hooked on Hope, Inc. is dissolving as a Florida Non-Profit Organization. This week, a check in the amount of $25,000 was presented to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida (https://www.bcfcf.org/). This organization was selected as it mirrors the funding priorities Hooked on Hope, Inc. adhered to for its 16 years in existence.

In the upcoming weeks, the Hooked on Hope, Inc. website and Facebook accounts will close - but our hearts will always be open to the many years of unwavering support from the Tampa Bay Communities. Feel free to post a message, a photo, or a memory to this FB Account now, we will be archiving so we always have memories of you.

Dissolution of Hooked on Hope:

As we hold our breath and heavy hearts, Hooked on Hope, Inc. announces dissolution as a State of Florida 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, effective the date of this notice. We exhale in heartfelt gratitude to the Tampa Bay Communities as you have been ‘making a world of difference right here in Tampa and surrounding communities’ for 15 years!

Because of you, we have served the breast cancer patients of Tampa Bay in the spirit of compassion for those unable to maintain living expenses during treatment.

Following closeout of finances, Hooked on Hope will give its remaining funds to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida (BCFC).’ With its base in Lakeland, the BCFCF mirrors Hooked on Hope funding priorities and service areas. The donation is not a guarantee of funding from BCFCF. We will post the amount and date once transaction has been made.

To our volunteers, donors, sponsors, committee members, medical and business partners, media outlets, and breast cancer patients, we cherish you, we honor you, we could not have done this without out.

A simple ‘thank you’ will never be enough! Please accept our enduring love and gratitude……………

Today is another day of 'hope' in the Tampa Bay Breast Cancer Communities! Hooked on Hope paid June and July rent for Niecy W! Niecy, only 52, has Stage 4 breast cancer. This beautiful photo is Niecy ringing the bell at Moffitt Cancer Center after completing her radiation therapy. She continues to be in treatment at Moffitt for the long haul.............. a simple 'thank you' will never be enough for the support of our generous communities and donors! Good morning Tampa Bay and many thanks! Two more rent checks in the mail this morning for deserving breast cancer patients for their June rent. Both ladies continue to work as many hours as they can during chemo and surgery! They will share their stories and photos when feeling better. To 'D' and 'J' we are praying for you both! Hooked on Hope wishes all the moms a very Happy Mothers Day! Over the past year or so, we have connected with very young breast cancer patients with small children, many of whom are single mommies. I am a single mom myself with a beautiful grown son and simply can't imagine being diagnosed with breast cancer with a young child! You are brave, you are strong, you are warriors! Today is another blessed day for a Hooked on Hope patient! Say hi to beautiful Jessica M. This photo was taken today which is Day #1 of her chemotherapy. Because of the recent donation from TECO, Hooked on Hope paid Jessica's May rent! Jessica and her partner have 3 young children and have gone from a two income household to one. Dear TECO Family...say hello to Abigail L. Today your recent generous donation to Hooked on Hope paid her May rent. Hooked on Hope is honored to have been chosen again this year as the recipient of funds raised by Danielle Gore of Dani's Dream Homes! $6605 was raised at the February 9 Heartfelt Happy Hour Fundraiser! Thank you Dani’s Dream Homes/Keller Williams Realty and team for your hard work! Funds will be used to assist breast cancer patients with living expenses during treatment. Thank you for getting Hooked on Hope!
