Big congratulations to the first-ever Lift Up Contra Costa Leadership Lab cohort! 🎉💛
Over the past few weeks, this incredible group came together to learn more about how local government works, build their leadership skills, understand their own power, and explore how they can take action on the issues impacting their communities.
Our Leadership Lab is about moving people from awareness → participation → leadership and creating a place for people to use their power. Because building lasting change means reaching people where they are, giving them accessible ways to get involved, developing new leaders, and connecting them to ongoing organizing across Contra Costa County.
We’re incredibly proud of our first cohort — and we’re just getting started. 🌱✊🏽

Come and join us for the Pittsburg and Antioch Healthy Homes Night. Resources on lowering your energy bills and home upgrades.
Dinner, Door prizes and fun!
Gas appliances like stoves and water heaters release harmful pollutants into the home —
including nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are linked to asthma and other respiratory issues,
especially in children.
In communities like Pittsburg and Antioch, this is made worse by outdoor pollution. Many
neighborhoods are located near highways, industrial areas, and other sources of air pollution.
Studies show that Pittsburg experiences some of the highest levels of fine particulate pollution
(PM2.5) in the region, along with one of the highest asthma burdens in the state.
At the same time, many homes rely on older gas appliances and struggle with poor insulation,
making them harder to keep cool during extreme heat and warm in the winter — increasing both
health risks and energy costs.
Healthy homes are about more than comfort. They are about reducing exposure to pollution,
improving air quality, and protecting the health of families, especially in communities that have
been most impacted.

We’ve been talking about Measure B and why it matters for the future of healthcare in Contra Costa County. This measure would help bring in over $150 million to protect local healthcare services as federal cuts continue impacting our communities. It also won’t increase the cost of necessities like food or rent.

Nurses, doctors, firefighters, and community leaders are supporting Measure B because healthcare impacts all of us. Make sure you’re registered to vote and ready for Election Day June 2nd.
