This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Oxford Bank – a bank built on community values and a staunch supporter of the fight against hunger here in Washtenaw County.
As part of their commitment, Oxford Bank is a sponsor of our largest annual fundraiser Rockin’ for the Hungry, a 5-day radiothon presented by Food Gatherers, ann arbor's 107one, and Kroger to rally the community to help raise meals to fight hunger.
During their Power Hour, Oxford Bank generously matches donations up to $10,000 so that each financial gift the community makes provides twice as many meals. Why do they do it?
“A large gap exists in our community between those who have more than enough and those who are struggling to make ends meet and keep food on the table,” expresses Dave Lamb, Oxford Bank’s Chief Executive Officer. “As a community bank, we care deeply about people and won’t stand by while neighbors of ours are going hungry.”
As a member of our board of directors, Dave Lamb also shares his professional expertise to help ensure that Food Gatherers is well-positioned to meet the need.
“We can’t address any other needs in the community without addressing food insecurity,” Dave shares. Thank you, Oxford Bank, for being a true champion of hunger relief in Washtenaw County.
