Made in Anderson: On this Labor Day we want to celebrate the hard work of those in our community.

There are businesses in Anderson doing remarkable things—building products shipped across California and the US, creating jobs, investing in our community, and proving that Anderson is a place where businesses can start, grow, and stay.

We think those stories deserve to be told.

Anderson Made is a new video series from Anderson Community & Economic Development highlighting the businesses, people, and entrepreneurial spirit behind our local economy.

Some of the businesses we’ll feature have called Anderson home for generations. Others are just getting started. Some manufacture products you may have seen all over California without ever realizing they were made right here in Anderson.

And we couldn’t think of a better place to begin than Outdoor Creations.

Since 1985, Outdoor Creations has manufactured precast concrete site amenities from its facility on Barney Road in Anderson. Their picnic tables, benches, fire rings and other products can be found in parks, campgrounds, schools and public spaces throughout California and beyond.

For more than 40 years, they’ve been building here, growing here and supporting the Anderson community along the way.

This is their Anderson story.

And this is only the beginning.

Over the coming months, we’ll introduce you to more of the businesses that make Anderson what it is today—and show why this community is a great place to build what comes next.

This is Anderson Made.

Local businesses giving back is one of many reasons we are . When you shop local your dollars stay in the community and make it better place to live.

A washer and dryer doesn't sound like much. But for someone rebuilding a life, clean clothes for a job interview changes everything.

Thank you, Derek Nichols and the team at Nichols Appliance in Anderson, for the generous discount that helped us furnish our sober living house. We greatly appreciate you. 💙
