LBWCC Foundation

LBWCC Foundation The LBWCC Foundation is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to secure resources to support the scholarships and programs of LBWCC.

The LBWCC Foundation was established in 1970 to seek and secure resources beyond state and local revenues for the purpose of supporting educational scholarships, programs, and other needs of the college. Gifts to the LBWCC Foundations support and build educational opportunities for individuals in the communities it serves. Every year the LBWCC Foundation provides over $70,000 in scholarships to st

udents from all of the College's service area. LBWCC has campus location in Andalusia, Opp, Greenville and Luverne. LBWCC Foundation receives donations given in memory or honor of individuals and recognizes these gifts by sending a note to the family of the person being remembered or honored. The standard method of making a contribution, mailing or delivering a check or money order, is not the only form of payment accepted. Other accepted mechanisms are:

Bequest: One of the most common and simplest forms of planned giving is a bequest. A bequest is a gift of property that is made through a donors will. The bequest is free of estate tax. Gift Annuities: Gift annuities allow a person to make a tax deductible gift and receive a fixed income for life for you and/or others you choose. They can be created with gifts of relatively modest amounts. Endowments: An endowed scholarship allows an individual/business to establish a scholarship that will last in perpetuity. The corpus of the endowed is secure and only the interest is used to make the scholarship award. LBWCC Foundations endowed scholarships assist students in the service area attend LBWCC. ALL GIFTS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE! If you would like more information on applying for an LBWCC Foundation scholarship, or to make a donation to the LBWCC Foundation, please contact:

What a day! We couldnโ€™t have asked for better weather or better company at the Camellia City Classic this week. Twenty-five teams and more than 50 businesses joined us at the beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Cambrian Ridge to support LBW Community College through the LBW Foundation, and together, we raised $50,000 for our students and programs.

We saw some very impressive scores on the course:
โ€ข First Citizens Bank of Greenville took first place with a gross score of 53.
โ€ข Low Net Score winners were Bruce Sartain and Ashton McKnight, and Team CCB Community Bank.

Proximity contest winners were Billy Rogers and Brent Worrell, sponsored by Edward Jones - Libby Cotter and CCB Community Bank.

Longest drive winners were Levi Wilburn and Hunter Brittain, sponsored by Shaw Industries and Southern Independent Bank.

The $5,000 putting contest, sponsored by Greenville Dodge Jeep Ram, came down to Hunter Brittain, who came up just short but took home the RTJ consolation prize.

A sincere thank you to our LBW staff and Ambassadors, Foundation Board Members, and the LBW Golf Team for being on site and helping make this event possible. And of course, thank you to every sponsor, golfer, and supporter who joined us. Your commitment and enthusiasm mean so much to LBW and to the students we serve.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year at the Camellia City Classic.

The Camellia City Classic is back, bringing together golfers, community members, and friends of LBW for a day of friendly competition and meaningful impact. Hosted at the RTJ at Cambrian Ridge in Greenville, Ala., this yearโ€™s tournament promises not only a great day on the greens but also the opportunity to support all students at LBW Community Collegeโ€™s campuses and the LBWCC Foundation.

Started by Dr. Jean Thompson many years ago, the Camellia City Classic serves as one of the Foundationโ€™s signature fundraising events, with proceeds directly benefiting scholarships, innovative programs, and student opportunities at LBW. Last yearโ€™s tournament raised over $50,000 for student success, and this yearโ€™s event aims to build on that momentum.

โ€œWe are proud to host the Camellia City Classic and bring our community together in support of LBW students,โ€ said Chrissie Duffy, LBW Director of Advancement. โ€œEvery sponsorship, every team, and every swing helps create opportunities for students to reach their goals.โ€

The tournament will feature a four-person scramble format, complete with prizes, contests, and special promotions such as โ€œSwing for the Saintsโ€, where LBW Golf Team members tee off on behalf of players. Weโ€™ll begin with a sponsored lunch, continue with a day of golf and fellowship, and prizes for our low scorers and longest drive and closest to the pin winners will round out the event.

Sponsorship opportunities and team registrations are now open, offering businesses and individuals a chance to invest in education while enjoying one of the areaโ€™s premier golf events.

For more information on sponsorships, team registration, or ways to support, please contact the LBW Community College Foundation at 334-881-2390.
