Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill Beacon Hill exists to reduce trauma, restore hope, and strengthen families in crisis and children in foster care through the love of Christ.

Beacon Hill's mission is to support, serve and encourage children within our community that are in foster care and children at risk of going into foster care, through the love of Christ. Our dream is to see all children in our community loved and well cared for in healthy homes. Beacon Hill serves children and families in 3 ways: Child Abuse Prevention, Reunification, and Advocacy for Adoption. Pr

evention: Beacon Hill is the implementing agency for the child abuse prevention movement, Safe Families for Children Alaska. This movement provides a safe alternative to child welfare custody for families facing crisis. It expands the community safety net by providing parents in need a loving sanctuary where they can safely place their children in times of crisis. Reunification: Beacon Hill provides free supervised family contact between biological parents and their children that are in the custody of the Office of Children's Services, transportation to supervised visits, and foster family support. Our MatSu Family Support Center offers a free, home-like setting for children in foster care to spend time with their parents and siblings. Visits in MatSu are not supervised by Beacon Hill staff. Advocacy for Adoption: Beacon Hill is the statewide implementer of the Heart Gallery of Alaska, which is a mobile and online art gallery that features children in the State of Alaska awaiting adoption. This serves as a compelling representation of the dignity and individuality of each child awaiting adoption and allows their needs to be known to give them a greater chance of finding a forever family. Beacon Hill provides adoption education and support groups in addition to recruiting adoptive families. Beacon Hill is a grass-roots organization established by Alaskans who want to make a difference locally.

We were so thankful to partner with Stuffed with Love at the Anchorage Foster Parent Appreciation Event!

Stuffed with Love is a community-based initiative that creates handmade gifts for foster children. They generously donated beautifully crocheted stuffies made with love, giving foster children something special they can truly call their own.

We are so grateful for their support and look forward to partnering with Stuffed with Love more throughout the year.

Thank you, Leilani Disselkoen, for helping make a difference in the lives of foster children!

We are incredibly honored and grateful to the Mat-Su Health Foundation for investing in children, youth, and families across the Mat-Su!

Through this generous $1.1 million investment over the next three years, we will be able to grow our operational capacity, address critical service gaps, and expand support for our Mat-Su community through Safe Families for Children Alaska, Family Support Services, MatSu Care Closet, and Permanency Services.

Thank you, Mat-Su Health Foundation, for believing in this work and for helping us reduce trauma, restore hope, and strengthen Alaskan families and children. Your partnership makes a lasting difference!

We're thrilled to announce the CarePortal Network has hit an incredible milestone! 250 children have been served in Alaska! This number highlights the power of community and the positive impact we can make together. ๐ŸŽ‰
