We had the best surprise visitor at the Chamber today! Lt Gen (Ret) William Welser III!

Bill served as the Vice Commander of the 443rd Airlift Wing of Altus Air Force Base from 1990 to 1992. During his time in Altus, he developed a deep appreciation for the Committee of 100 and all it stood for, serving as the Welcome Wagon to newcomers at AAFB year after year.

When Bill’s time in Altus came to an end, he became a member of the Altus OK Committee of 100 - Welcome Wagon, himself, and has continued to invest in this organization every year since.

Thank you Bill, for your service, not only in Altus, but across the many installations you served during your 34-year military career. And a special “thank you” for your continued support of our Committee of 100 and the purpose it serves.

It’s not every day that we get a surprise visit from a 3-star General. Bill, we hope you like your new t-shirt!😉 Today was a good day!
