🦩 Throwback to Year Four: Together We Rise

Year Four's theme said it all: Together We Rise, and it coincided with a record-breaking Thanksgiving Food Drive collecting 2,817 items from 16 Riverbend businesses, a spontaneous Unity Party in early 2025 that drew over 90 attendees from the area, and lawns across Alton “flocked” with pink flamingos for our Pride Flocking fundraiser.

Compassion shows up in a lot of forms — even pink plastic ones!

Our 5th Annual Pride Festival is only 2 weeks away and we're getting hype about all our beautiful drag performers! Our Performer Spotlight today is our 2025 Queen Zoey Monet, and we asked, "What Does Alton Pride Mean To You?"

"Alton Pride will always hold such a special place in my heart because it truly feels like family, community, and home. Having had the honor of serving as Queen of Alton Pride 2025, I was able to experience firsthand the incredible love, acceptance, and support that makes this organization so special. For me, being Queen was never just about wearing a crown—it was about representing a community I love, helping others feel seen and celebrated, and being part of something bigger than myself. Alton Pride gave me a place to grow, serve, build meaningful relationships, and create memories I’ll carry with me forever. My reign may have ended, but my love for Alton Pride never will. Once family, always family."

Each performer wrote about what Alton Pride means to them, in their own words:

What makes Alton Pride special is the love and acceptance. It’s not about being big. It’s about people coming together and welcoming everyone. Alton Pride shows me that community can be simple. It’s just people supporting each other and making sure no one feels alone. I love Alton Pride because I feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Hey guess what!? Only 18 days left before the 5th Annual Alton Pride Festival kicks off on September 12th! Let us introduce you to our Festival Performers - first up is Noah Mazzaratie Steele - King of Alton Pride 2026! 🥰👑

Each performer wrote about what Alton Pride means to them, in their own words:

There is something truly special about Alton Pride because it has always felt like home. They say home is where the heart is, and for me, my heart is wherever my family is. Alton Pride has become so much more than an event—it is a family that has welcomed me, celebrated me, and reminded me that love, acceptance, and community can change lives.

Being crowned the King of Alton Pride is one of the greatest honors of my journey. It isn’t just about wearing a crown; it’s about representing a community that believes in lifting each other up, celebrating authenticity, and creating a place where everyone belongs. I will always cherish the opportunity to serve as the King of Alton Pride, to give back to the people who have given me so much, and to carry this title with pride, gratitude, and love.

Home isn’t always defined by the place where you’re born. Sometimes, it’s the place that embraces you, believes in you, and loves you exactly as you are. That’s what Alton Pride has always been to me. They say home is where the heart is, and I’ve learned that the heart is wherever your family is. My Alton Pride family has filled my heart with unforgettable memories, unconditional love, and a sense of belonging that I will carry with me forever.

Being chosen as the King of Alton Pride has been one of the greatest blessings and honors of my life. This crown has never just represented a title—it represents service, visibility, love, and the responsibility of standing proudly for a community that continues to inspire me every day. Every smile, every hug, every celebration, and every moment we’ve shared has reminded me why Pride matters and why community is so important.

I will forever cherish the privilege of serving as the King of Alton Pride. Thank you for trusting me to represent this incredible family and for allowing me to be part of something so much bigger than myself. No matter where my journey leads, a piece of my heart will always remain here, because Alton Pride isn’t just a celebration—it’s home.

As I continue my journey, I’ll carry the lessons, the laughter, and the love of this community with me. Crowns may change, titles may pass, but family is forever. And because home is where the heart is, my heart will always beat for Alton Pride.

No matter where life takes me, Alton Pride will always hold a special place in my heart because home is where the heart is, and my heart will always be with my Alton Pride family.
