Today, we honor James “Jimmy” Downs- a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend who bravely shared a transparent and heartfelt testimony about his colon cancer journey. He offered his story with courage, honesty, and deep love for his family and community. His insight remains forever invaluable.

As we recognize Men’s Health Month and move toward Father’s Day, we pay tribute to a father who used his voice to inspire others to get screened and take their health seriously.

Thank you, Jimmy, for trusting us with your story and your mission.

May your legacy live on, and may your message move others to get screened, get informed, and take care of themselves.

Many thanks to Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for providing a powerful space for men to learn about their health and take action, starting with themselves. We were able to provide IFITs, PSA screenings and prostate health education at their annual Men’s Health Summit.

Center for Change will be participating in the Men’s Health summit at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
