Atlantic Institute is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to facilitate dialogue and bridge cultures around the globe. For a better world of peace and understanding, we would like to develop public awareness for diverse cultures, beliefs, traditions, and opinions. With our branches in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina, we have been able to dedicate our efforts and resources for building cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue.

We are deeply grateful to Red Clay Sangha and Gareth Young for guiding us through such a thoughtful exploration of Buddhism as part of Atlantic Institute’s Exploring Faiths Series.
Gareth’s reflections invited us not simply to learn about a tradition, but to listen with curiosity, ask meaningful questions, and deepen our understanding of the experiences and practices that shape the lives of our neighbors. We are especially grateful to Gareth for sharing the beauty and wisdom of the Buddhist tradition with such warmth and thoughtfulness, and to Red Clay Sangha for welcoming us so graciously into this meaningful experience.

Join us for the next gathering in Atlantic Institute’s Exploring Faiths Program Series!

This session, we’ll be Exploring Buddhist Values and learning about the beliefs, practices, and values that shape the Buddhist tradition.

We are pleased to welcome Gareth Young, Guiding Teacher at Red Clay Sangha, who will guide us through an engaging introduction to Buddhist teachings and practices, with a focus on values such as mindfulness, compassion, and mindful living.

Atlantic Institute was honored to partner with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Bagel Rescue for a meaningful Interfaith Ministry Service Project, coming together with friends and neighbors for a program of service, dialogue, and community. Hosted at the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Hall, the program provided space for conversations and preparation of sandwiches and packaging of rescued bagels for neighbors experiencing food insecurity, transforming surplus food into nourishment, hope, and shared purpose.

We are deeply grateful to our friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for their warm hospitality, to Bagel Rescue for their partnership, and to every volunteer who served with open hearts and a spirit of compassion.

At the heart of every International Educational Dialogue Trip is genuine human connection.

While institutional visits, meetings, and educational exchanges are an essential part of the experience, some of the most meaningful moments happen through heartfelt conversations with host families, around shared meals, and during visits to sacred spaces that have shaped communities for generations.

Our friends had the privilege of experiencing Spain not only through its history and institutions, but through its people. Opening homes, sharing hospitality, exchanging stories, and learning from one another created opportunities for authentic dialogue that opened space for shared values.

Visits to churches, mosques, synagogues, and other places of spiritual significance further enriched these conversations, inviting participants to reflect on the values, traditions, and shared humanity that connect us across faiths.

Throughout Atlantic Institute’s International Educational Dialogue Trip to Spain, we had the privilege of meeting with public institution leaders, university leaders, faith communities, and civil society organizations.

These conversations offered valuable perspectives on education, civic engagement, multifaith dialogue building, cultural understanding, and also provided an opportunity to deepen mutual respect.

Atlantic Institute was honored to organize an International Educational Dialogue Trip to Spain, bringing together a distinguished group of leaders from the fields of education, civic and community engagement, nonprofit organizations, media, and multifaith communities across Georgia and Florida.

In collaboration with our international partners, this journey created meaningful opportunities for our friends to engage with public officials, academic institutions, faith leaders, and civil society organizations throughout Spain. Through visits to Madrid, Toledo, Córdoba, Seville, Málaga, and Granada, participants explored Spain's rich historical heritage, met with leaders of institutions, and experienced the enduring legacy of coexistence among cultures and faith traditions.

We are grateful for the friendships formed, the conversations shared, and the lasting partnerships strengthened through this meaningful journey.

We were honored to take part in the City of Atlanta’s tribute recognizing Dean Lawrence Edward Carter Sr., a distinguished educator, scholar, and community leader whose decades of service at Morehouse College have inspired generations of students and leaders.

The occasion also brought to mind the meaningful connections built through shared values and mutual respect, including the recognition of our teacher, Mr. Fethullah Gülen with the Gandhi King Ikeda Award during Dean Carter’s leadership in 2015.

We were grateful to reconnect with dear friends and celebrate a legacy devoted to education, dialogue, service, and human dignity.
