Job seekers, this is a reminder about the Goodwill Job Connection Job Fair happening here at the library TOMORROW, Tuesday 9/1, from 1-3pm!

Stop by (with or without your résumé) to meet with employers and learn about open full- and part-time positions in a variety of fields. Online pre-registration at https://forms.office.com/r/LmuX2svTQ7?origin=lprLink is encouraged but not required. Our 6th annual school supply giveaway was a success thanks to our community!

We received a record amount of donated supplies and cash, allowing us to serve 251 students from over 50 schools across Washington County. We even had enough supplies leftover to share with four of the schools in our service area, making sure that Aloha students head back to class prepared.

Thank you to our community partners – Peak Credit Union, the Program for Intellectual Empowerment, 185th Produce, the Aloha Community Farmers Market, our event volunteers, and YOU! We cannot do this without your support!

Drumroll, please... We are delighted to announce that the winner of our recent mascot challenge is Moss, our library dragon!

Moss collected the most votes from visitors who donated items to our 2026 school supply drive, and will be featured as the guest of honor at tomorrow's party – join us at Comedy for the Kids with Angel O this Saturday, 8/22, from 3-4:30pm!

We'll be celebrating Washington County Cooperative Library Services' 50th birthday (https://www.wccls.org/50th-birthday) with food, fun, and an unforgettably hilarious English-Spanish performance from nationally recognized comedian Angel Ocasio, whose unique style combines physical comedy, magic, juggling, and music.

In addition to enjoying Angel's performance, you'll have the chance to nibble on tasty snacks, snap your photo with Moss, grab a celebratory sticker or two, claim a commemorative mug (first 50 guests, limit 1 per household), and collect a stamp from the Aloha Community Library for your WCCLS passport. We can't wait to party with you!
