🍦🚒 Scoops of Thanks = Support for Your Fire Department! 🚒🍦

Join us on Thursday, May 7th at Culver's for Scoops of Thanks Day and help make a difference right here in our community!

For every scoop purchased, $1 will be donated to the Allen Park Citizens Civic Fund (APCCF), with proceeds going toward new equipment for the Allen Park Fire Department.

It’s a simple (and delicious) way to support the men and women who serve our city every day.

Bring your family, grab a scoop, and help us continue to protect and serve Allen Park! 💪🔥

🚨 When Should You Replace Your Smoke Detectors? 🚨

Smoke detectors save lives — but only if they’re working properly.

Here’s what every household should know:

🔥 Replace the batteries at least once a year.
A good reminder is when you change your clocks for daylight saving time.

🔥 Test your smoke alarms once a month.
Press the test button to make sure it sounds.

🔥 Replace the entire smoke detector every 10 years.
Even if it still chirps and seems to work, the internal sensors wear out over time.

You can usually find the manufacture date printed on the back of the unit. If it’s 10 years old (or older), it’s time for a new one.

🏠 Install smoke alarms:
• Inside each bedroom
• Outside sleeping areas
• On every level of your home

Working smoke detectors cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half. Take a few minutes today to check yours — it’s one of the simplest ways to protect your family.

If you have questions about smoke alarms or need assistance, contact the Allen Park Fire Department. We’re here to help.

Thanks, Allen Park CCF for the question!
Stay safe, Allen Park. ❤️🔥
