Thank you for all you do to help our veterans!

The power of a hat, a conversation, and community. 💛
Longtime VPH supporters and volunteers, Mike & Gail Kipp, were wearing their Veterans Path to Hope Outdoors hat recently when a young Marine veteran named Pablo noticed it. What happened next is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.

When Mike and Gail mentioned Veterans Path to Hope, Pablo’s face completely lit up! He shared that about eight months ago, VPH threw him a lifeline during a difficult time. In particular, he remembered a team member named Paul, who stepped up and helped the Marine veteran secure the exact resources and people he needed to get back on his feet.

Today, Pablo is doing well, thriving, and full of gratitude for the stewardship and care he received.

To Mike and Gail: Thank you for always flying the VPH flag and making these meaningful connections in the community.

And to Pablo, thank you for your service. We are proud to have helped you in a time of need. Our doors are always open to you and every service member. Stop in for a cup of Joe and say hi sometime.

Great news! The Liberty Education benches are finished curing and are ready to be installed. Originally scheduled for July 4, 2026, the dedication has been moved to Flag Day, June 14, 2026. The location remains the same in Batavia at the Flag Day Monument, 100 N. Island Avenue, or the parking lot at 121 N. Island Avenue. The dedication ceremony and events will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The Batavia Community band, food options, a historic flag display, children's activities, and other patriotic fun will be available throughout the event.

Hope to see you there!

Did you know that the history of the DAR and the American Red Cross are permanently intertwined?

Our connection began with the legendary Clara Barton. Nine years after she founded the American Red Cross in 1881, she became a charter member of the DAR! She even served as our first Surgeon General from 1890 to 1893.

A Shared History of Service:
🏥 Founding Leadership: Along with Clara Barton, the next leader of the Red Cross, Mabel Boardman, was also a dedicated DAR member.
🌏 Wartime Support: During WWI and WWII, DAR members volunteered over 26 million hours for the Red Cross and funded dozens of mobile blood units and ambulances.
🏠 A Helping Hand: During WWII, DAR even turned its National Headquarters into a Red Cross auxiliary, housing offices for POW services and child care for military families.

Today, we continue this proud tradition of being neighbors in service, hosting joint blood drives and supporting disaster relief efforts together.

❤️ Have you ever volunteered with the Red Cross or participated in a DAR blood drive?
