She’s often the first to know. 💜

Callie shares how her experience in maternal-fetal medicine sonography shaped the way she now cares for families, and why she created a space at The Ultrasound Concierge where moms can feel safe, seen, and supported during pregnancy, regardless of the outcome.

I’ve gotten to know Callie a bit outside of this conversation, and one thing that immediately stands out is her joy. That same warmth and compassion shine through in the way she cares for patients. If you want to hear from a sonographer whose clinical excellence meets genuine compassion, this episode is for you.

Season 5 of The Sucky Sisterhood Podcast is inspired by our Beyond Words workshop, where we equip healthcare and ministry professionals to support mothers who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. Over time, we’ve realized that while there are many conversations about how to care for loss moms, there are far fewer acknowledging the experience of those providing that care. From doctors and nurses to chaplains, therapists, and ministry leaders, each episode offers a candid look into the role they play and the weight they carry.

Our hope is to bring understanding, perspective, and a more human side to these roles. Whether you’re a loss mom, a partner navigating grief, a care provider or someone who cares for women in these moments, this season is for you. 💜

What do you wish every nurse knew about caring for a bereaved mother? When we were thinking through the perspectives we wanted to capture for this season of , a nurse was at the top of the list. Because so many loss mom stories start with their nurse, we knew Dr. Lisette Saleh was the obvious choice for this episode.

Being invited into ’s classroom at school over the last few semesters has been an education for us, sparking curiosity for and I to learn more about what it’s like for nurses to care for loss moms like us.

One a personal note, this was my first interview with a healthcare professional and it makes me emotional to think how people like Lisette are changing the landscape of bereavement care. She invites the narratives of loss moms to equip her students with information they’ll carry into their careers, wherever that might be.

In this episode Lisette shares her first experience caring for a loss mom, what she wishes she had known earlier in her career, and how fear of saying the wrong thing can sometimes keep caregivers from showing up fully.

What happens when the person caring for you has walked through baby loss, too? In this episode of The Sucky Sisterhood Podcast, Peyton sits down with , a nurse practitioner turned author, teacher, and ministry partner, who brings both professional experience and her own journey through infertility and pregnancy loss. Together, they talk about:

• What it’s like to experience loss from both sides of the room
• The gaps in care and the moments that matter most
• How presence, acknowledgment, and compassion can shape a mother’s experience

Heather shares from her own 10-year journey through infertility and loss, as well as her time caring for patients in the medical field. She offers an honest look at how personal experience can shape the way care is given, and the importance of slowing down and truly seeing the person in front of you. 💜
