This is an amazing organization that ministers to victims of Human Trafficking, helps them establish a new life for themselves, as well as bring awareness to the community.

Why Not Bless was honored to meet their team early on in our own start, and we are so proud of their growth and commitment to such a timely and difficult endeavor.

Our family has been able to take some amazing trips over the years. When the boys were still in school, we took a trip to Washington DC, which was educational for all of us! While there, we went to the Viet Nam Memorial, A friend from home had lost a fellow soldier whose name is one of the (too) many engraved in the stone. We were able to locate his name and do the pencil etching to bring back to Texas with us. Very moving.

We also visited Arlington National Cemetery - so much to take in there. We were fortunate to catch the Changing of The Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Oh My Goodness. Such a solemn and impressive ceremony.

Several years later, Randy and I were able to go to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The actual "visitor's center" is built over the wreckage of the ship that sunk during that invasion. Parts of the ship are still visible from the surface, but most if it remains submerged with the sailors who valiantly fought and lost their lives that fateful day. The names inscribed on the wall are the names of those individuals, as well as survivors of the attack of that have passed on through the years. They have also been entombed with their shipmates. A unique memorial site, for sure.

I'm so grateful that memorials like these have been erected and stand day after day, year after year, so that these brave men and women who sacrificed their lives are not forgotten, nor just remembered on Memorial Day once a year.

Randy's father served in the Navy, and my father was in the Army during WWII. Both served and came home to continue their everyday lives. We are thankful for their service, and proud that they willing chose to put their lives on the line for people they would never know.

There are many ways to memorialize these heroes, and many fine organizations that support and assist families of the fallen, as well as those that have served, past and present. Why Not Bless is always humbled when families choose to give an honorarium in memory of a loved one, or encourage others to do so. No matter the amount that is given, everyone who donates to WNB gets to have a part in our ministry to Bless others, and we are grateful to each and every one of you that trust us to Bless others in your name.

We hope you had a blessed Memorial Day Weekend!

In HIs love,
Randy & Doris Weeaks

Friends, you just can’t make this stuff up!

WARNING – Loooong post ahead! I will try my best to condense it, but there’s just too many amazing details to leave out! So, grab a Dr Pepper and settle in for the ride – pun intended.
If you’ve read our mission statement, you know that the goal of WNB is not just about getting donations for our ministry, but to “empower, motivate & facilitate the contagious acts of generosity.” What you’re about to read encompasses all that – which is what thrills us the most!

It all started out with a conversation between Randy and one of our Board Members, Ben. Ben told Randy about a friend who had been serving in a parachurch ministry in another country for several years. Upon leaving that country, they seized all his bank accounts, leaving him and his family with virtually nothing coming back to the states. He and his wife have 4 children, and Ben was hoping to secure a vehicle for them that would meet their needs.

Long story short – a vehicle was purchased and given to this family, as well as Randy and Ben having the opportunity to minister to and encourage Ben’s friend, after dealing with their painful experience. Of course, he and his family were blown away at the thought that people they might never know had given generously to WNB so that they would be the recipients of this Blessing.

A week or so later, we got an email from a guy inquiring about getting a van for a family with seven (yes, 7!) kids. After emailing back and forth a few times, we found out that he had heard about WNB because he had lunch with Ben’s friend, “C”, who told him about his Blessing. Vans are not that easy to come across, especially in WNB’s price range, so I told him that we would probably not be able to help, at this time. “N” replies that he already had a few he was checking into, and that he and his wife wanted to purchase the van themselves, and only wanted WNB to facilitate the process so they could remain anonymous! Sooo…

A van was purchased at a dealership in Texas and shipped to the family in Florida. That’s the gist of that story but wait! There’s more!
First, we had to contact the family in Florida and convince them (via texts and voicemails) that this was not a Scam – it was 100% legit – and that we really needed them to get back in touch. Which they did, and we managed to persuade them that someone was blessing them with a van for their family! To facilitate this Blessing, we had to contact a transport company, as well as arrange getting the funds from N & his wife. That’s a story in and of itself. They do not live in our area, but I happened to be going to Las Colinas to see a movie with our son and his girlfriend, so they offered to drive there to bring us the check. The theater was already dark, so I sent my son to meet them in the lobby (old people do not need to walk downstairs – especially in the dark!!!). He comes back with a personal check with about $15,000 over the cost of the van. They said they were so impressed with what WNB is doing, that they wanted to be a part of blessing even more people through our ministry!

The sweet family in Florida called to let us know that the van had arrived, and they were just elated. They were going to take it to pick their kids up from school that afternoon! The wife told us that her mom had been praying for THREE YEARS that someone would provide them with a van and that they would just drop it off on their front porch. Well…!!!

In the meantime, Randy hears about a young lady who needed a car to get her to school. Upon hearing her “story”, he finds out that she was adopted by a nurse in the hospital where she was born, so you know there’s more to that than I can share. In any case, because of the generous donation of N, we have been able to provide her with a vehicle! Again, we get the opportunity to let her know about all the wonderful people who believe in and support Randy and I with Why Not Bless.

Y’all, Why Not Bless is about as “grassroots” a ministry as it gets. Unlike many other charities and organizations, we do not have any corporate sponsors or foundations that provide us with unlimited funds. Quite the opposite, we started around our kitchen table with 4 friends who believed in our vision and helped with the seed money to start blessing others. We’ve been blessed with some very generous donations through the years, and we’re always grateful for that! However, what is equally amazing, is that people that donate $50 a month, or $100 here and there can share in the Blessings we facilitate in their honor.

Prayerfully consider how God can use you to bless others! ❤️

May 2024 be your best year yet. EVERY DAY is a gift, and a chance for a "do-over." Our prayer is that you will look for ways YOU can bless others this year. I always say that the easiest way to be generous is to be a good tipper! But, generosity is not solely connected to money. Here are some suggestions for ways to live a generous life in 2024:

Call, text, email someone with an encouraging message
Help someone with a chore
Invite a friend or neighbor over/out for coffee or a meal
Send a Thank You card - people still love "snail mail!"
Volunteer in your church or community
Declutter and donate to charities that support causes you hold dear
Thank those that serve you and others (Civil Servants, Teachers...)
Pray for others - in person, if possible
Ask God to show you ways you can be a blessing to others this year

2023 was a great year for Why Not Bless, and we are full of anticipation for 2024! Pray that we will continue following God's direction as we seek to Bless in His Name!

Merry Christmas to all of you from Why Not Bless! No matter how few or many presents you may have under your tree this year, ALL of us have the opportunity to receive the Greatest Gift Ever - and that is what Christmas is really all about! "For God so loved the world He gave..." John 3:16 is one of the core verses of this ministry. No matter how generous we think we are or try to be, we can never outgive the Lord. Blessings to all of you today, and in the coming year!

I know we don't post much these days, but we did want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks and gratefulness for everyone who has helped make Why Not Bless go from a dream to a reality for FIVE YEARS now. Without the prayers, support, encouragement and referrals from so many, we could not do what God has called us to do! We pray that you and your family and friends are enjoying your holiday today, and that you will continue to have the spirit of thankfulness and gratefulness each day. As always, thank you for allowing us to Bless in your honor. Pray that God will continue to give us wisdom as we seek to honor and glorify Him with this ministry. Giving thanks with grateful hearts, Randy & Doris Weeaks

This week, WNB had the privilege of facilitating a blessing at our church. One couple knew of a sweet lady who needed a vehicle and another couple contacted Randy about a car they wanted to donate - both happened within a 2-hour period. So the photos you'll see are of Randy getting the honor of blessing "Big Mama" on behalf of those generous hearts.
