Meet tonight's speaker! Dr. Darcy Barron is passionate about cosmology and instrumentation, and combines those with her current research on precision measurements of the cosmic microwave background. She has been on the faculty in the Physics and Astronomy department at the University of New Mexico since 2018. Outside her research, she dedicates time to broader issues impacting astronomy through serving on a federal advisory committee, and as co-lead of the SatHub of the International Astronomical Union's Centre for the Protection of the Dark and Quiet Sky.

Meet tonight's speaker! Dr. Chenoa Tremblay spends her days searching for alien technology—not with flying saucers, but with giant radio telescopes, high-performance computing, and a lot of signal processing. As a Project Scientist with the SETI Institute and the Breakthrough Listen program, she leads searches for technosignatures using the Very Large Array and MeerKAT telescopes. Her work also includes studying how stars form and developing the next generation of radio astronomy instruments.

Meet tonight's speaker! Dr. Rick Perley obtained his PhD from University of Maryland in 1977, with a thesis on very low frequency interferometric imaging. He was a postdoc at NRAO (Socorro) from 1977 to 1980, after which he was promoted to staff scientist. He was involved in the early imaging developments with the VLA through the 1970s and 1980s. In the 2000s he was the VLA Expansion Project Scientist, helping with the vast increase in capabilities that this project brought. Since the completion of this project in 2012, he has been working on improving imaging and polarimetry with the array, as well as utilizing it for science.
