ed Organization in 2012 under registration No.DGC/496/2012. God's Mercy Orphanage Center was founded by three young women from Kisoro District after realizing the big challenges their community faced in addressing the plight of orphans and Vulnerable children. The District has over the years experienced HIV/AIDS pandemic that has ravaged homes and families. After the death of the family heads, the children are often left to fend for themselves and some are so young to take it on their own. The three young women saw the need to address the challenges of orphans and Vulnerable children and also build sustainable community mechanism that could reduce the impact of these social problems, hence GMOC was launched.
