On July 9th, 2026, Every Woman Sierra Leone held an impactful community engagement in Mabap, bringing together women, elders, youth and children for open conversations on women's rights. child protection, and the prevention of r**e, domestic violence, and abuse. A highlight of the meeting was the brave commitment of a respected elderly woman who pledged to report cases of r**e, domestic violence, and child abuse, encouraging survivors to speak out and seek help. This act of solidarity underscores the growing resolve within the community. "This is exactly the kind of partnership we want to build with communities," said program manager Beatrice Tholley. "Together, we can break the silence, prevent violence, and ensure that every woman and every child lives with dignity, safety, and hope." The initiative marks part of Every Woman Sierra Leone's ongoing mission to build violence-free communities through grassroots education and advocacy.
