One picture, so many meanings, and a lifetime of memories. ❤️
Look at the faces some already exhausted, while others still have enough energy to do it all over again and again, with those beautiful, warm smiles. 😊
This picture takes me back to 2013, my first ever Street Child Marathon and my first journey from my home village to a big town. I still remember praying at night for the hours to pass quickly so morning could come. 😂
And it wasn’t only me experiencing that excitement. Everything was new , We were pointing at buildings, places, and everything we saw, calling each other just to make sure nobody missed anything.
I remember asking Uncle JMK for permission to explore the community. We went out and somehow got lost 😳 Luckily, Uncle JMK was a well known man in the community, so we eventually found our way back. We promised not to tell anyone because we didn’t want to become the joke of the group. 🤣
But then came Abdul the “big boy” who decided he could explore by himself. Guess what? He got lost too 😂 He spent time walking around the same community until he finally found Uncle JMK’s house. 😂 From that day until our journey back to Kamakwie, we never let him forget it 😁
Looking back now, those moments were priceless. It wasn’t just a marathon it was an adventure, a first journey, a friendship, and memories that still make me smile today.
Some pictures don’t just capture a moment; they carry a whole story and a flash back 🥹❤️❤️
