Scholarly path in Partnership with the National Union of Sierra Leone Students 🌍 Applications Are Now Open!
The National Study Abroad Summit – Sierra Leone 2026 is coming to Freetown.

But too many brilliant students never apply because they do not know where to start.

This summit will help students and graduates learn how to find scholarships, write strong personal statements, prepare competitive applications, build leadership profiles, and understand what top universities are looking for.

Whether your dream is a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD, this is for you.

Topic: How Does Social Media Affect Our Youths: Negatively or Positively?

Social media has become a major part of young people’s daily lives. It connects us, informs us, entertains us and creates opportunities. But it can also influence our behavior, mental health, relationships and decision-making in ways we may not always realize.

So, is social media helping our youths grow and succeed or is it creating more challenges than opportunities?

Join us as we explore both sides of the conversation and discuss how young people can use social media responsibly and positively.

Happy Independence Day, Sierra Leone! 🇸🇱💙

As we celebrate Sierra Leone's independence at 65, we reflect on a powerful and inspiring weekend of learning, dialogue and national pride.

Some of our members had the opportunity to attend the Civic Education Seminar and 65th Independence Day Symposium held at the Miatta Conference Centre, organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

Centered on the theme “Building a Responsive, Resilient and Cohesive Sierra Leone,” the sessions created space for meaningful conversations around youth, democracy, gender, media, AI and active citizenship. From insightful panel discussions to creative performances, every moment reinforced the importance of engaged and informed young people in shaping our nation’s future.

One powerful reminder from keynote speaker Dr. Cecil A. Blake stood out:
“Every citizen… must commit to being responsive to the needs of our motherland; development cannot be outsourced.”

As we mark this new chapter of independence, we are reminded that nation-building starts with us — our voices, our actions and our commitment to positive change.

We appreciate the The Ministry of Information and Civic Education for creating such impactful spaces for youth engagement.
