🌍✨ In early February, the European Youth Centre Budapest became a hub for ideas, collaboration, and youth-driven change.

26 young people from across the Council of Europe member states gathered for the study session “Exploring Planetary Health: Climate, Rights, and Participation.” Through debates, simulations, peer learning, and expert discussions, they explored the links between the climate crisis, public health, and democratic participation.

Beyond knowledge, the week focused on empowerment. Young people strengthened their advocacy skills and discovered how their voices can influence policy, shape decisions, and drive change in their communities.

The message at the end of the week was clear: planetary health solutions are not possible without meaningful youth participation. 💚

Social media often shows wellness as perfectly planned routines, but real life usually looks a little different. 😅

And that’s okay.

Health isn’t about doing everything perfectly every day. It’s about small habits, staying flexible, and being kind to yourself along the way.

Resource Alert!

The United Nations’ World Youth Report 2025 highlights that young people’s mental health is shaped not just by individual experiences, but by the world around them.

Education, work opportunities, family life, poverty, technology, and societal attitudes all affect youth wellbeing, and inequalities in these areas continue to impact mental health globally.

The report calls for inclusive, youth-informed policies to ensure every young person has access to support, opportunity, and care.

YHO in Action: Inclusion in and Through Sport

YHO has recently joined the Youth Workers Exchange Programme in Rome, Italy 🇮🇹, bringing together partners from across Europe to explore how sport can promote inclusion, participation, and wellbeing among young people.

Through workshops, peer learning, and intercultural exchange, participants gained skills to design inclusive sport activities, empowering youth from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities.

Together, we keep building healthier and more inclusive communities through collaboration and youth work. 💙

Why do we feel tired just as everything starts to bloom? 🌷

Longer days, more sunlight and warmer weather, yet many people feel more tired in spring. This is often called springtime lethargy, and it is a normal response to seasonal change.

As winter ends, your body adjusts to:
☀️ more daylight
🌡️ changing temperatures
⏰ shifts in sleep patterns
🧠 hormonal changes that affect energy and mood

You might feel low on energy, unfocused, or notice changes in your sleep. The good news is that your body is simply readjusting, and your energy usually returns with time.

Obesity is one of the biggest health challenges of our time—but it’s also something we have the power to change 💙

And it’s not just an adult issue. Childhood obesity has increased dramatically in recent years, affecting health far beyond childhood and raising the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions later in life.

Obesity is never just about individual choices. It’s shaped by inequality, poverty, access to healthcare and education, the food environments around us, and the communities we grow up and live in.

In honor of World Obesity Day, let’s move past stigma. Let’s focus on understanding, prevention, and making sure everyone has access to the support and care they deserve.

At YHO, our work is guided by a simple belief: when young people have knowledge, agency and supportive ecosystems, they can shape health decisions and drive real change.

By investing in evidence, partnerships and strong structures, we support youth-led action at local, regional, and global levels.

This is how we turn youth health from a priority into a lasting value. 🌱

Resilience is strategy.

Through the Organizational Resilience pillar of YHO’s Strategic Plan 2026–2030, we are strengthening YHO’s independence, sustainability, and governance.

By investing in strong teams, ethical partnerships, and diversified funding, we’re building an organization that can support youth leadership for the long term.

💪 Strong structures enable strong impact.

Health isn’t about being perfect; it’s about doing what you can, wherever you are. Especially at the start of the year, when we set new goals and resolutions. 💙

Some days that means gentle movement.

Some days it means rest.

And some days it’s simply getting through the day. And that’s enough.

Be gentle with yourself. 🌿
