Breaking news: First-ever global climate research prize goes to NUS researcher 🥳

Assistant Professor He Xiaogang has been named the first-ever recipient of the Global Climate Research Prize for his work on floods, droughts and water resilience.

His research explores how floodwaters can be captured and reused to reduce water scarcity in vulnerable communities. He has developed frameworks to better predict and manage water-related hazards, with practical applications across regions including California and Southeast Asia.

As one of Singapore's leading computer scientists, his legacy in research and education will continue to influence future generations of innovators, scientists, and educators.

As part of SNAS 50th Anniversary Outreach, Prof Sow Chorng Haur conducted a SNAS–Science Centre Singapore Workshop for Teachers on P3: Physics in the Park Programme.

Teachers experienced how physics can be brought outside the classroom using simple tools such as our own handphone and real-world environments, transforming outdoors into dynamic learning spaces.

The workshop was a great success, with enthusiastic participation and meaningful learning throughout!
