Kenya is the second largest country in East Africa and worldwide known as a famous tourist destination, Quality Tea exporter, and recognized for the best Athletics..However as in any other nation poverty is the major challenge. The unemployment rate is very high of over 45 per cent and about 50 per cent survive below a Dollar a day.. The number of households living in poverty is in increase, especially those with more than two children, as the income has fallen. This condition force the children to drop out of school, to work in running the family Farms business.Other children opt to go to the street. We, Pachin.-Passover children initiative, envision a vibrant country that relies on it's own skills and innovation to flourish. For this to happen all children, as regarded the tomorrow parents needs a firm layed foundation to a better tomorrow. This means that every child deserves the right to education,nutritious Food and career skills an this is achieved by working in team work with all parties. PACHIN HOME
Pachin Orphanage is a home to 28 children from all different ages as well as extremely friendly and a hard working staffs and there families.Many of the children have been brought to the orphanage as there parents have no money to care for them , or have died and there is nobody left to look after the child.Some other children are brought from the street,where they are labelled by their peers as street children. In a country like Kenya even if there could be somebody left in their village to look after the child after either both of the parents pass away, there is no Help from the state for the remaining family members in accommodating this child and only few will have the income to do so. Often the only ones left to support the children are the grand parents, who are too old to take care of the young children, forcing them to send them to an orphanage . At the Orphanage has build water pump so that they can have sufficient water for drinking and cooking. We have supplied funds to build a dormitory. We hoping to supply them with sufficient mattress,At the moment there are not enough beds ,many have to squash into one bed, and the rest of the children sleep on the floor and even without a mattress.
