🎙️ Introducing ESLA Talks – Conversations that matter.

We are excited to launch ESLA Talks, a new series bringing together researchers, clinicians and other voices to explore the ideas, evidence and challenges shaping speech and language therapy across Europe.

And what better time to begin than AAC Awareness Month?

For our very first episode, ESLA Chair Sahra Mengal welcomes Gunilla Thunberg, Associate Professor and speech and language therapist from Sweden, for a conversation about AAC, communication and participation.

Together, they explore the story behind AKKtiv, the importance of communication partners, the right to tell one's own story, and the challenges of improving access to AAC across Europe.

Because communication is about much more than expressing needs. It is about sharing experiences, building relationships and having a voice in our own lives.

🔬 The network aims to:

👥 Who can participate?

Academic researchers, including doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and clinician-researchers with previous research experience, who are members of national professional associations affiliated with ESLA.

18 november är det dags för nästa lunchseminarium. Anmälningslänk i kalendariet på Logopedförbundets hemsida.

Karin Persson är logoped och disputerade i september 2026 vid Lunds universitet. Sedan 2003 har hon arbetat vid Rehabiliteringsmottagning barn och unga i Lund med rehabilitering och långtidsuppföljning av barn med förvärvad hjärnskada. Hennes avhandling handlar om tal, språk och kommunikation hos barn som opereras för tumör i bakre skallgropen. Efter kirurgi finns risk för posterior fossa syndrome (PFS), ett tillstånd som kan innebära mutism eller kraftigt reducerat tal, följt av svårigheter med tal, språk och kommunikation. I avhandlingen undersöktes ordmobilisering och narrativ förmåga före och efter kirurgi samt barnens egna erfarenheter av kommunikation i vardagen.

Idag är det DLD-dagen och temat för dagen är "Tillsammans för DLD".

Logopedförbundet har, tillsammans med ett flertal funktionsrättsorganisationer, förbund och forskare, skrivit en debattartikel som idag publiceras i Vi Lärare

Om bland annat vikten av samarbete, att fler ska få kunskap om DLD och att logopeder behöver finnas i fler verksamheter.
