Special thanks goes out to our amazing volunteers who helped at camp today. Fabian, one of our instructors in training did an amazing job teaching the riding and getting the social interaction games going today. The participants performed walk halt walk transitions, direct reining and the beginning of 2 point, all the while learning empathy for their horse and how important good communication is for us to understand each other and our horse.

Did you know that horses have a unique locking mechanism in their legs called a "stay apparatus"? This ingenious system allows them to lock their joints and doze off while standing up completely upright without falling over. However, for horses to have REM sleep they need to lie down. To lie down and sleep the horses need to feel safe.

No foot, no horse! We are so lucky to have Manuel Lopez and his assistant George do a great job on our horses feet every 5 weeks. A cost that you can help cover if you love to give to a specific cause. It costs us $330 dollars a month to keep up with the horses feet which is vital to their health and soundness.
