🔹 Inquest Report

📄 Formal preliminary report prepared by police/magistrate regarding an unnatural, sudden or suspicious death.

⚖️ Legal Basis: Sections 174–176 Cr.P.C.

🎯 Purpose: Record the apparent cause of death, visible injuries, crime-scene condition and relevant observations.

👤 Witnesses: Names/details of persons identifying the deceased may be recorded.

🩺 Before Post-Mortem: The inquest report is provided to the Medical Officer/Doctor before post-mortem examination.
