. AVILON ZOO is home to more than 500 species of animals, from arachnids and insects, freshwater fishes, amphibians and reptiles, to birds and mammals. The zoo is also a botanical garden with a wide array of flora species and varieties in collection. AVILON runs a veterinary hospital, a zookeeper training center and a science and information center within the zoo to cater for the welfare requirements of all life under its care. AVILON also launched the WildCARE Initiative to develop programs aimed at significantly contributing to wildlife science and education as well as to biodiversity and wildlife habitat conservation. AVILON ZOO is continuously evolving as it aims to be a premier wildlife science and conservation center in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia. AVILON ZOO is an Institutional Member of the Southeast Asian Zoos and Aquariums Association (SEAZA) and a pioneer member of the Philippine Zoos and Aquariums Association (PHILZOOS).
