One Manila Organization A socio civic organization that aims to unite the diverse groups of Manileños Inc.) This is the story of our organization from a project of S.K.A.T.E.

HISTORY:

One Manila was formed out of the efforts of the organization called Social Kinship Anchoring Towards Equality (S.K.A.T.E. that was originally founded in the summer of 1999 and was legally registered to the Securities and Exchange Commission on the 18th of March 2002. The organization was formed by young individuals sharing same interest in pursuing a common goal and that is to build a fa

cility for the alternative sports enthusiasts, underground musicians and artists to promote new kinds of activities for the youth, something that is new, fresh and exciting things that they would actively participate in. Through the years, the organization began to mature and started addressing other issues promoting social awareness and conducting cause oriented activities by working side by side with different organizations. Eventually, we expanded and began utilizing our resources and contributing our talents to help serve others who are in need. In January 2008, we created a project about Global Warming where in our target was the youth for its just common sense that if you really want to change the future then you have to approach the generation that is shaping it. Various activities were held in different schools within Manila like tree planting, mural contest and lectures. The project was a success, there sprung out an idea to transform the One Manila Project into an organization. Leaders from different organization who share the same principles joined and agreed to build not just an alliance but a union that would adopt us all. A group that would stand up and fight for change and progress through advocacy, reach a larger audience and serve a higher purpose. Inc., One Manila organization was born.

What we do isn’t just activity and has nothin to do with Olympics it’s community, respect, safety, and strength together, making all of these available to all not just a certain group but to everyone who wishes to have a better world
