As we join the nation in commemorating the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence, we are reminded that true democracy is strengthened when citizens empower one another. In this spirit, CODE-NGO is officially opening its doors to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Peopleโs Organizations (POs), and Cooperatives with proposals to advance Good Governance, Resilience, Active Citizenship, and Youth Participation.
Aligned with CODE-NGOs' advocacies, this yearโs Democracy Fund will prioritize proposals that advance human rights and strengthen civic spaces.
Created in 2002, the Democracy Fund was established to support the advocacy initiatives of POs that align with the CODE-NGO Development Agenda. It is an expression of CODE-NGOโs commitment to PO empowerment and asset reform.
The application is open to any duly registered Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) civic or social development institutions or those registered under another valid government entity. Grants of up to โฑ50,000 are available to support initiatives that promote good governance, resilience, active citizenship, and youth engagement. Eligible advocacy initiatives include mass mobilization, press conferences and media campaigns, advocacy fora and meetings, and training related to advocacy work.
