The Philippine Association of Social Workers, Incorporated โ Benguet Chapter (PASWI Benguet) joins the National Office in expressing its heartfelt prayers, sympathy, and solidarity with the individuals, families, and communities affected by the earthquake that struck Mindanao on 8 June 2026.
As a professional organization committed to the promotion of human welfare and social justice, we recognize the profound and far-reaching impact of this disaster: loss of lives, destruction of properties and livelihoods, displacement of families, and the psychological, social, and economic challenges, especially among children, women, older persons, and persons with disabilities.
We continue to offer our prayers for healing, strength, and resilience for the survivors; we extend our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones, and we stand in steadfast solidarity with all those suffering the consequences of this calamity.
PASWI Benguet expresses profound gratitude to Local Government Units, national government agencies, first responders, humanitarian workers, and civil society organizations for their swift and coordinated response, exemplifying a "whole-of-government" and "whole-of-society" approach in addressing the urgent needs of affected populations.
In the spirit of compassion and collective action, we call upon our fellow social workers, partner organizations, and the general public to continue supporting affected communities. Let us embrace the spirit of Harambee, "pulling together as one people," to help our brothers and sisters in Mindanao recover, rebuild, and rise stronger from this adversity.
