When we seed knowledge, industry experience, and creative confidence, we give new stories a stronger place to grow.

For SineLab 2026, we’re bringing together creative voices who can share not only what they know, but also what they’ve learned from working in the industry.

Joining us are Chai Fonacier, award-winning writer and actress, and Carlos A. Quimpo, creative director and illustrator—bringing their experiences, insights, and perspectives to help inspire the next generation of Aklanon creatives.

Through shared knowledge, real-world experience, and meaningful conversations, we hope to cultivate stronger storytellers and a more vibrant regional film community. 🌱🎥

Every story starts somewhere—with an idea, a voice, and a space where creativity can grow.

This September 26, 2026 (Saturday), at Daisuki Grill & Restaurant – Event Hall in Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹, opens a new space for Aklanon creatives to learn, collaborate, and turn local stories into stories for the screen.

From Learning to Leading — A Successful Step Forward ✨

The 2nd Kalibo Seminar-Workshop on Parliamentary Procedure has come to a meaningful and successful close—bringing together student leaders from different schools across Kalibo for two days of learning, collaboration, and leadership development. 🗣️⚖️

From Day 1 to Day 2, participants engaged in discussions, gained practical knowledge, and developed essential skills in communication, critical thinking, and decision-making. More than rules and motions, this initiative focused on building leaders who can facilitate conversations with fairness, confidence, and purpose.

This milestone was made possible through the strong partnership of the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗼 𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗜, 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲, and 𝗝𝗝𝗖 𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗡, with the support of 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗼, 𝗦𝗕 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁 𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝘇𝗺𝗮𝗻, and 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗧. From what started as the 1st Kalibo Skills Contest in 2023, this initiative continues to grow—proving that when we invest in the youth, we build stronger organizations and a better future.

𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛, 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘

𝗝𝗝𝗖 𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻 was honored with a Plaque of Recognition during Pagkilaea Year 2, held on August 17, 2026, at the ABL Sports Complex and Cultural Center, as part of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026.

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

JJC Aklan joined fellow young Aklanons in the Young Aklanons Leadership Academy (YALA) Year 5 on August 15, 2026.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” YALA Year 5 brought together young people with different stories, experiences, and perspectives, creating a space for meaningful conversations, shared learning, and genuine connections.

For us at JJC Aklan, being part of YALA was an opportunity to step outside our usual spaces, listen to different voices, and learn alongside fellow youth who continue to take an active role in shaping their communities.

𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨. 𝙄𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣, 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣, 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬.

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲

On August 12, 2026, the 𝗝𝗝𝗖 𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻 and the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 (𝗗𝗧𝗜) 𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻 formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Aligned with JJC Aklan’s commitment to developing young leaders, this partnership with DTI creates a stronger bridge toward opportunities in entrepreneurship, skills development, and youth empowerment.

Through this collaboration, we look forward to helping young Aklanons turn their ideas into action, discover opportunities, and build something meaningful for themselves and their communities.

Here’s to a partnership that opens doors, nurtures potential, and creates more avenues for young Aklanons to lead, grow, and make an impact. 💙
