Education
RD Foundation aims to contribute in the holistic development of the youth. This program supports poor but deserving students who want to complete their education through the RD Scholarship Program. Scholars under the two categories, Academic and Special, receive monthly educational assistance and are given relevant training on life skills and leadership. The “Edukasyon Mo, Kabuhayan Ko (
EmK²) Project” improves the quality of education in the community by donating arm chairs while at the same time providing livelihood to the Persons With Disability (PWD) who manufacture the arm chairs. Health and other social Services
Under this program, RD Foundation helps in the delivery of health services to the communities. Our nutrition projects aim to curb the problem of malnutrition and hunger in collaboration with the public and private institutions. RD CUP (Communities Upholding Partnership) Against Malnutrition conducts comprehensive supplemental feeding to day care children for 120 days. The project also conducts medical and dental mission to the children beneficiaries and parents mentoring to the adults. The Feeding on Wheels conducts one time feeding activities to depressed areas to lessen hunger for the day. RD Foundation also conducts Medical, Dental, Audiology and Surgical Missions in partnership with local and international partners such as the Canadian Medical Mission Society (CMMS). The Little Dino Children’s Assistance Project extends financial medical assistance to children with medical condition. It also provides other social services for children such as monthly support to children’s homes, orphanages and day care centers.
2. Technical and Entrepreneurial Center (TEC)
The center helps indigent youth and adults acquire technical skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCI and Electrical Installation and Management (EIM) NCI for free. Graduates of these technical courses are linked to appropriate RD Companies such RD Fishing and GenSan Shipyard for work opportunities. The TEC produces around 100 graduates of both courses every year. The center also helps community based organizations start a small enterprise by providing needed trainings and seed capital.
3. Environment and DRR-CCA
RD Foundation commits to protect and conserve the natural environment as a means of reducing risks to natural disasters and adapting to the changing climate. The foundation conducts mangrove reforestation, coastal clean and “scubasurero” or underwater clean up. The GreenSilient School Project builds resilience of public schools at highly at risk to disasters through green initiatives. Among the activities under this project is the mainstreaming of DRR-CCA in School Development Plans, Development and Integration of DRR-CCA modules in school curriculum, disaster preparedness and school greening.
4. Youth and Family Development
As a value based corporate foundation, this program is mainstreamed in all programs of RD Foundation. Partner communities and program beneficiaries are also recipients of Youth Development Project which extends youth and children evangelism, values and leadership formation and spiritual retreats. The Family Enrichment Project includes parents’ mentoring, family values formation and couples enrichment seminars.
