YESCON 2025 Comes to a Close!

The final day of the YESCON 2025 concluded on an inspiring note, marked by meaningful discussions and a showcase of the delegates’ commitment to environmental stewardship.

The day opened with an insightful talk by Ms. Celine Murillo, titled “Sama-sama Para sa Saribuhay: Mainstreaming Biodiversity and Natural Heritage.” Her presentation highlighted the breathtaking natural heritage of the Philippines, leaving delegates in awe of the country’s rich biodiversity and the urgent need to protect it.

A major highlight of the conference was the YESCON Challenge, where delegates were tasked to draft a proposed ordinance focused on environmental protection. These proposals will be submitted to relevant offices for consideration—giving young leaders the opportunity to help shape real, future-ready policies.

YESCON 2025 officially concluded with the recognition of the Best Proposed Ordinance among the five participating teams: Team Huraw, Team Lulugayan, Team Sohoton, Team Bangon, and Team Ulot. After careful deliberation, Team Lulugayan emerged as the top-performing group.

It’s a Wrap for Day 1 of YESCON 2025!

The first day of the Youth for Environmental Sustainability Conference 2025 has formally come to a close—leaving delegates more equipped and informed about the vital role of environmental conservation in shaping a sustainable future for the next generation.

Throughout the day’s sessions, participants gained deeper insights into the importance of protecting the natural environment and the shared responsibility of today’s youth in driving climate action.

As Day 2 approaches, delegates are set to take on the YESCON Challenge, where they will craft a proposed environmental ordinance aimed at strengthening local efforts toward sustainability and ecological protection.

Young leaders from Samar gather for 𝐘𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐍 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, a three-day event promoting youth involvement in environmental action and policy at the Samar Convention Center from November 12 to 13.

The Youth for Environmental Sustainability Conference (YESCON) is an annual event organized by the Samar Provincial Youth Development Office in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. This year’s conference focuses on forests, wildlife, and cultural heritage, especially the Samar Island Natural Park (SINP).

YESCON 2025 Officially Commences

The Youth for Environmental Sustainability Conference 2025 officially kicked-off earlier today at the Samar Convention Center.
The conference began with an insightful discussion on Current Issues on Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Action, and Sustainability in the Province of Samar, shedding light on the province’s ongoing environmental efforts and challenges.

It was followed by an engaging session on Samar Island Natural Park (SINP): Overview, Culture, Tourism, and Heritage, highlighting the rich natural and cultural treasures of the island.

To conclude the first day, delegates participated in a group dynamics activity, fostering teamwork and unity among participants. The delegates were divided into five groups—Team Ulot, Team Lulugayan, Team Sohoton, Team Huraw, and Team Bangon—each symbolizing Samar’s natural wonders and resilience.
