Mark 5:1–20

Jesus crossed the stormy Sea of Galilee to meet 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 in the region of Gerasenes.

To others, this man may have seemed worthless and hopeless. But 𝘁𝗼 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀, 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀.

It is the same for us today. Even when we are weak, when we fail, or when others turn away from us, Jesus never gives up on us. 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻.

But receiving His grace is not the end. Just as Jesus gave the healed man a new life and a new mission, we are also called to 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

The world values money, success, and possessions. But Jesus values 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲.

May we have the heart of Jesus—loving, caring for, and serving even one person whom the world may overlook.

𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.

𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞.

“𝗚𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹” — 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝟭𝟲:𝟲–𝟴

The first people to hear the news of Jesus’ resurrection were not Peter or the other male disciples, but 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆.

They had watched Jesus die, seen where He was buried, and returned to the tomb after the Sabbath. There they heard the angel say:

“𝗛𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗻… 𝗚𝗼, 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀.”

The women were afraid and trembling when they heard this incredible news. But there is something important to remember:

𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿.

He said:

“𝗚𝗼. 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹.”

God also chose women, who were often overlooked by society, to become the first witnesses of the resurrection. This shows us that God does not measure people by their social position or by the way the world sees them. 𝗛𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗯𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗺.

The failure of Eve does not define the value of women, just as our past failures do not define our future. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴.

So we should not live according to the world’s judgment or remain trapped by our fears. We must remember God’s command first.

𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿. 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁.

𝗚𝗼. 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹.

Jesus is alive. Death has been defeated. And now we are called to boldly share the hope of the resurrection with the world.

Faith church sunday worship service.

Title: Be Brave!
Scripture: John 16:32-33

Look closely at what Jesus says. He says, “In this world you will have troubles.” He does not say, “If you have trouble, try to be strong.”

No.

He says, “You **will** have trouble.” It is a promise. All people face hard times.

We are still living in a world full of troubles. So what does it mean that Jesus has overcome the world?

Do you remeber?

And we celebrated Ptr. Marco’s birthday.

Since last Wednesday, we have begun transplanting rice seedlings at the Pag Asa Farm (Hope Farm) in Calomintao, Occ. Mindoro.

The land had previously been used only for growing corn. After purchasing it and clearing the corn, we discovered that the condition of the soil was not as good as we had expected. We also learned that rice farming requires much more investment than corn farming, which is why many families facing financial difficulties cannot afford to grow rice.

Nevertheless, we divided the farmland into smaller sections, plowed the soil, removed rocks, and leveled the uneven areas as much as possible. Together with the Mangyan believers, we were able to transplant rice seedlings on Wednesday and Thursday in the areas that were ready. The work will continue through today. The remaining land will be used to grow vegetables and corn.

The rice will be harvested in October. During the following dry season, depending on the availability of water and financial resources, we plan to grow either rice or corn.

Please pray that Pag Asa Farm will become more than just a place that provides temporary assistance. We hope it will become a place where the Mangyan believers can experience sustainable blessings through their own hard work and diligence. We would greatly appreciate your continued prayers and support.

The boys in the photos below are Mangyan children whom we have known for many years. We happened to meet them elsewhere and enjoyed a time of fellowship together.

Sadly, the physical growth of many Mangyan children has been severely stunted. We are simply thankful if they are healthy. The boys in the photos are the same age as my second daughter, Anna, but they are only about half her height.

Please pray that Pag Asa Farm will help improve the health and well-being of children whose growth has been affected, and that through the work at the farm, many Mangyan people will be drawn to the church and come to know Christ.

On a personal note, this experience has shown me just how difficult farming truly is. I have learned how important the condition of the land is, and how much hard work, sweat, pain, and perseverance are required to turn a field into fertile soil.

Although I was only able to work alongside them for two days, I came away with a deep appreciation for the Mangyan believers who labor so faithfully. At the same time, I was grateful that we could provide them with an opportunity to work at the farm.

Please pray for good health for everyone working at Pag Asa Farm, and ask God to grant wisdom and strength to those leading this ministry.

May the Lord bless each of you with His peace today. Thank you, as always, for your faithful prayers and encouragement.

Today, My wife and I attened the Sunday worship service at Faith Church, STAND BY CENTER, Calumpit Bulacan. We worship together with congregation, celebrated Mother’s Day, and enjoyed Family Day together. One of the church members kindly prepared Filipino food for us, and we truly enjoyed it.

Our ministry in the Philippines for the first half of the year is now almost coming to a close. In June, we will be visiting Korea for our mission report and hospital appointments.

Please continue to keep this place and my family in your prayers. We will keep sharing updates about the Pag Asa Harvest Farm.

Maraming Salamat po!
