The Whanganui-Rangitikei-Waimarino Cancer Society It relies heavily on donations to continue its services. All our services are free.

The Cancer Society Whanganui- Rangitikei- Waimarino is an incorporated society with chartiable trust status. It receives minimal government funding and no funding from national body so contributions and support from people are very much appreciated and allow the Cancer Society to carry on very worthwhile work for the community. It is a real boost to us to have support of people in our community. T

he Cancer society work closely with, but is not part of, Hospice, Child Cancer, Canteen nor the Breast Cancer Foundation. The Cancer Society works right across the cancer spectrum from diagnosis to outcome, whatever that may be, whatever the age group, we are there for the entire journey if we are required. The Cancer Society supports people with cancer and their families, as well as providing a comprehensive information service about cancer. We have a team of volunteer drivers to enable you to attend local clinics and the Regional cancer centres. We also provide a wide range of information on all aspects of cancer for patients and their families, health professionals and the general public. Our resources include: leaflets, pamphlet, journal articles, books and videos. The service also includes a lending library, resources and aids to help those in need, and in exceptional circumstances we are also able to offer financial assistance. Furthering our understanding of cancer and the development of more effective ways to treat cancer is a major concern to the Cancer Society. The Whanganui- Rangitikei-Waimarino Centre contributes substantial funds annually to Cancer Research undertaken in Aotearoa NZ. We work actively with our communities to ease the impact of cancer, support people living with cancer, inspire hope, promote healthy, cancer free lifestyles, provide up to date information, and lobby for the best cancer services and fund research.

Host a Cuppa for Cure and raise funds that can change the lives of those affected by cancer.

Every year we get closer to developing a cure, but it's only possible with the generosity of people like you.

1 in 3 New Zealanders will experience cancer at some point in their lifetime, and so far that number is only rising. Evey cup helps strengthen the support given to cancer clients.

After you register you'll be given a welcome pack including tea packs thanks to our sponsor Dilmah.

Once you've raised $250 dollars you'll be given a custom Cuppa for Cure mug and when you raise $500 you'll receive a custom apron.

If you can, we encourage you all to get out and donate blood this National Blood Donor Week.

26% of people who receive donated blood products in New Zealand have cancer, making cancer patients the single largest group of blood recipients in Aotearoa as they go through their treatment.

And it's not just blood. Plasma can be turned into up to 11 life-saving medicines and treat up to 50 illnesses including cancer, kidney disease, blood clots and liver failure. Demand is growing more than 10% every year, and right now only 17,435 New Zealanders donate plasma.

Thank you to every blood, plasma and platelet donor this Blood Donor Week (and every other week!) Grab someone you love and book in together at nzblood.co.nz 🩸

Nobody starts smoking planning to get addicted to ni****ne. But to***co is still the leading cause of preventable cancer death in New Zealand, killing over 2,000 people every year.

This Smokefree May, we're calling on the Government to reduce ni****ne in to***co products to non-addictive levels. The evidence shows it could save around 8,000 lives by 2040.

Hey there ,

We’re putting the call out to our wonderful community and followers to help make our Daffodil Day Raffle a success by donating items we can bundle into hampers
💛
We’re seeking contributions for pantry hampers, garden hampers, and a toy/activity/book hamper. We warmly welcome all kinds of items that fit these categories, as long as food items have not expired or are not due to expire before August, and toy/activity/book items are brand-new and are not pre-loved.
💛
Rather than relying on a small number of businesses—which is becoming increasingly difficult for vouchers and products—we’re casting our net wide and inviting everyone to play a part. A raffle like this thrives on collective effort, and every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference
💛
Please consider donating an item, sharing this post, and spreading the word with your family, friends, and networks. If you have something else you’d love to donate, let us know, and we can look to bundle it with other items
💛
Together, by each giving a little and rallying around this call for help, we can unite as a community to build something impactful and ensure our Daffodil Day Raffle truly reflects the generosity and strength of everyone who supports our cause 🤗

We are heartbroken to hear of Paige Suisted's passing.

As the face of Daffodil Day last year, Paige showed extraordinary courage and generosity by sharing her journey to support other Kiwis going through cancer
She was a beautiful, young woman, and her strength, vibrant spirit and contagious laughter left a lasting impact on the team.

Our thoughts are with her family 💛💝 and all who loved her.
