As we get older, it’s normal to notice small changes in memory, thinking, or concentration 💙
For many people, these changes are part of ageing — but sometimes they can feel more noticeable or start to affect daily life. The important thing is: you don’t have to ignore them or worry alone.
We encourage older adults and their whānau to talk with their GP if they notice changes such as:
✔ Forgetting things more often than usual
✔ Finding it harder to concentrate or follow conversations
✔ Feeling more “foggy” or less clear in thinking
✔ Changes that impact everyday routines or confidence
There are many possible reasons for these changes, and often there are simple ways to support brain health and wellbeing.
Your GP can help:
✔ Check what might be contributing
✔ Rule out treatable causes
✔ Connect you with support, advice, and local services
Starting the conversation early can make a real difference 💙
If you or someone you care about is noticing changes, reach out — support is available.
