Hi 👋 We’re the new volunteers taking over fundraising for the next stages of Greytown's Papa Ora Wheels and Play Park.

These next stages won’t have Council funding, so bringing them to life is going to be a real community effort.

We’re just two local parents with jobs, young kids and no experience at doing any of this. But we love to see how well the skatepark is used and want to keep the momentum going.

We definitely don’t have all the answers and are learning as we go, so if you’ve got skills in:

-Doing accounts for a Trust
-Fundraising, sponsorship or events
-Governance/board experience
-Project management
or you’re a young person keen to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!

And a little reminder to keep things kind. This project is for the kids and community, and everyone involved is doing their best ✌️

Just a friendly reminder.

The Greytown Trails Trust, and its fundraising arm, The Greytown Country Market, have been operating for more than a decade to build and now maintain the Greytown Rail Trail and The Tauwharenikau Trail.
These two entities are seeking some new blood to upkeep and oversee the Trails; and to run the Market that allows the Trust to do maintenance and improvements without having to apply for grants .
The Trust is looking for some new Trustees as some of the originals move on. We meet every two months and have the occasional working bee with our wider group of volunteers. Hands on is not required of everyone, we all have our different strengths and contribution to make.
The Market is run by a small volunteer group of 2 or 3 people with others helping on the day. All proceeds from the day go to the Greytown Trails Trust. Much of the operation is by a website system and marketing through social media, written media and radio.
Our AGM will be held 12th May at the Greytown Town Centre
